Episode Seventy-Six: A Good Day

"Hey, short stuff. You're looking much better," Seth complimented me, grabbing me around the waist as he lifted me up into a tight hug. "Doing okay?" He asked, sincerely when he put me down.

My cheeks instantly flushed. "I'm doing great. Really. Sorry for freaking out on you the other day," I replied with a little sigh in my voice. I always felt embarrassed when I showed any extreme emotion in front of anyone, crying being the very worst. He had only seen my reaction at a glance, but I was sure it was enough to worry him. It was the closest I had come to having a breakdown since Aiden died.

"Nah. You're fine." Tyler patted me on the shoulder as he walked past us. "Totally understandable. Lauren keeps crying over it, though. She'll just randomly start sobbing. I don't know what to do about it." He blew out a heavy breath, his eyes getting wider.

“Oh, no,” I laughed at his funny expression. “She doesn’t need to do that for me.”

He sighed, his shoulders slumping. “She says it’s just pregnancy hormones.”

“Yeah, I’d say so,” Edward chuckled a little. He had been a witness to every single one of his sisters’ pregnancies to a degree. Apparently, they went from all ends of the spectrum, from easy to terribly uncomfortable and vomiting the entire time. “It’s probably a little cathartic. Plus, it’s a story with a pretty happy… I’d say ending, but I’m going to say middle.”

I grinned at my boyfriend's words, sighing a little bit in happiness. "Mm, I think you are exactly right." He winked at me. All I could do was smile at him. I turned my attention back to Tyler. "She's sweet. She seems very empathetic. Hopefully, they really are good tears."

He straightened his back, then nodded. "Yeah, she is. I'm just so tired," he whined.

Edward chuckled again, “shh, no one tell him what’s going to happen when the baby comes.”

Tyler shook his head. "No. I'm okay with staying up with the baby. Late nights are fine. It's her crying all the time that is exhausting."

"Shh, don't tell him what's going to happen when the baby comes," Seth repeated his boss in a low whisper. I giggled, but Tyler decided to ignore him, just going to the car.

“I can already see you now being the kind of dad that gets up in the middle of the night to watch stupid videos with the baby,” I teased Edward, walking into the garage ahead of him.

"I have totally done that with many of my nieces, actually. I mean, I'm usually awake anyway. Why can't they enjoy a classic sci-fi film or something like that with their midnight snack?" He smiled at my giggles. "Don't worry. When it's our turn, I'll get up with the baby lots. And we'll get a part-time nanny to help."

“Just part-time?” Seth asked.

"Well, I want to be there for most of their first years. I don't want to miss anything, and I'll be able to afford to, by the time we're talking about having kids," he said very casually. Edward wasn’t talking about money but time. He would be able to afford to slow down with his career. "So, a nanny here to help Bella when she needs a bit more rest or assisting with getting things done like doctor's appointments or errands when I'm not there to help. Or if Bella is working and I need help. You know, it goes both ways. It's always a good idea to have an extra set of eyes and hands, especially ones that come with training."

I stood back, watching him very calmly explain how amazing of a father he was going to be to our friends without even knowing it. It was like he knew all the exact right things to say around me to make me want to have his baby. I was so glad I had gotten the IUD when I did.

Edward passed his keys to Tyler and gave Seth my camera equipment to put in the trunk. We slipped into the backseat together first. Since we were alone for a moment, I pulled him into a deep kiss. My fingers twisted into his collar roughly, showing him exactly how happy he made me with my lips.

“I love you,” I whispered when I pulled away.

"I love you, too. What was that for?" He asked, innocently. His eyes were a little glazed over, and he looked almost star-struck.

“Does it have to be for something?” I asked him a bit teasingly, running my finger over his jaw. “Not just because?”

He grinned beautifully at me. "No. It doesn’t. I just wanted to know so I can do it again. You know, so I can get more wonderful kisses like that," he purred against my cheek before pressing a little peck to it. Edward was in a good mood, and I loved it. I adored how it washed over me and brightened my outlook on everything. When I was with him, it felt like I was always standing in the sunshine.

“Mmhmm,” I hummed, pulling him in for another quick kiss. Carefully I fixed his shirt and smoothed my chapstick from his bottom lip. He smiled his charming grin once again and sighed before laying his head on my shoulder for the entirety of the drive. I lovingly played with his pretty red hair, letting the strands tangle with fingers.

We had a French bakery to start with for the day. It was the perfect way to begin. I always enjoyed how he arranged his shoots. Everything was fresh and delicious, the perfume of hot baked goods filling the hair. I loved the warm bread so much. Edward bought me a couple of dozen croissants to take home in a variety of flavors. He loved them, too. I could have eaten them all day, though.

He decided that he wanted to surprise me with the next video. Edward had been mysterious about it but told me to bring comfortable athletic clothes. I had worn leggings, a long tunic t-shirt, and my starry chucks but I also brought other clothes to change into, just in case. He obviously liked my choice in pants because whenever he got the chance, he would grab my ass when no one was looking.

“Eddie takes dance lessons?” I asked in surprise as we pulled into the dance studio. He nodded happily, grinning at my instant reaction. “Oh! How fun! Really?”

“Wanna dance with me, baby?” He opened the car door for me, helping me to stand with my hand in his. Edward was pleased that he made me so happy, his eyes glittering with joy.

I had to lift my chin up entirely to look up into them. We were only a few inches apart. “I’d love to,” I breathed.

"I'm going to be in it, too," Seth informed me loudly, smiling in my direction charmingly. He and Tyler were getting the camera equipment from the trunk. "Do I get a dance, too?"

“Of course,” I giggled as I went to go get my camera bag. “What about you, Tyler?” I asked him with a playful wink, bumping my hip into him.

He shook his head, vigorously. The poor man instantly turned pink. "No. I'm good. I'm fine with just watching and recording."

“He hates dancing. It’s because he’s too white and too-” Seth began to tease him, but his boss was having none of it.

"Hey! Be nice," Edward interrupted just as loudly as his friend. "I'm white, and I can dance a little."

"Mm. Yes, you can," I said in a purposefully seductive purr as I walked ahead of him into the studio. I knew he was watching my ass and that he caught my meaning right away. I gave it a little wiggle just for him.

“You best behave,” he whispered in my ear in a funny accent. I shook my head with a giggle. “No? Am I in for a long day?” I nodded quickly, grinning wicked. He playfully growled at me, pressing a quick kiss on my lips. He then slapped my ass hard.

“Hey!” I laughed. “None of that.”

“Then behave,” he laughed, unphased by my threat.

“Nah.” I flipped my hair over my shoulder and pushed passed him again as we made our way to the reception desk. He laughed and swatted me again.

Eddie was going to learn to waltz, tango, and salsa. We had a lot of fun with the salsa and tango, laughing as we spun around the room playfully. We were taking it very seriously. I wiggled and rubbed all over Edward whenever I could, which he both loved and hated at the same time.

I danced mischievously with Seth too, not as aggressively but enough so to make Edward take notice. He just thought it was funny. Seth was admittedly a better dancer than his boss. He kept dipping me back dramatically to be funny, my hair sweeping the floor before throwing me back up too hard. Then we would march around the floor like Morticia and Gomez Addams.

"You are so graceful," Edward whispered to me as we waltzed together. He was concentrating hard, and I was letting him take control. I loved being in his arms, so close to him in a way that felt almost magical. I could see us in the future dancing like this at some special occasion, him in a tux and me in a lovely gown. He made me feel like a princess.

“I’m trying so hard not to lead,” I joked in a whisper. He chuckled, ducking his head bashfully as he blushed.

"I wouldn't know the difference." I laughed at his answer as he dipped me back. This felt different from when Seth did. The way his hands were on my back, his eyes piercing into mine. "You look like an angel like this. You're so beautiful. I knew when I planned this that you would be, but it's so much better than I ever imagined," he whispered into my ear.

“Did you do this to see me dance?” I asked him curiously. He nodded in response. “You could just take me out.”

He nodded his head again quickly. "Oh, I will do that again, too, but I get to film this and watch it over and over again. How would you feel about doing a ballet video with me?" He asked me seriously before wiggling his eyebrows playfully.

I giggled softly. “That sounds like so much fun.”

“Want to wait to do that one until Jasper gets here?” He asked in a low voice. I laughed a little louder.

Humming for a minute, I nodded. “Mm, yes. Are you going to wear tights? Oh, my god. Please say you’re going to make him wear tight ass little pants. For me. For both of us.”

“But then I have to wear them too,” he whined, dipping me back gently.

I playfully pouted out my bottom lip. "But then I have to wear them, too. Do you want to see me in a skin-tight leotard? Traditional pink with even the toe shoes. You don't have to do the shoes. But I will."

“Can we keep the outfit?” He whispered, spinning me around before bringing me back to him. We were chest to chest, his hand on the small of my back.

“Are we going to play ballerina and casting director?” I asked him with a smirk.

Edward chuckled softly. "Will you dance for me, Isabella?" He asked in a husky voice in my ear. The dance was suddenly over, and he took a step away from me before bringing my hand up to his lips to lightly kiss. I think my instant reaction showed on my face because he smirked. I felt hot all over.

"You’re so lovely together! Very graceful!" The dance instructor praised us, an elderly woman in her late sixties. She came over to speak with us again. I felt almost exposed in a very intimate moment. His words were cloyingly innocent, but their meaning was totally erotic. He was, of course, fine. He spoke to her cheerfully while his hand rested on my back still.

After, we were going to have a leisurely review video at a nicer Jamaican restaurant. Tyler was going to be eating with us while Seth filmed. We shared a massive platter of jerk chicken, curry shrimp, stewed oxtail, rice and peas, plantains, and festival bread. I loved every single bite. So did Edward. I promised to make him some at home someday. I enjoyed eating any kind of rice and beans. They tasted like my childhood.

We stopped with the guys for milkshakes on the way home for dessert. It was a really fun day. Every moment was perfect. It was like we got to play all day with our friends and he was going to make crazy money off of it. I wasn’t sure how he figured how to do it. Turning his playtime into cash like that. I was quietly in awe of his intelligence.

Seth and Tyler stayed for a little while and talked before finally heading out. I gave Tyler a mix of croissants and a message to give to Lauren, to not worry about me. I promised I would go out to lunch with her, just to show her that I was okay. It made him feel much better. We needed to make plans for her maternity pictures anyway.

“You didn’t give me an answer earlier,” Edward began once they left alone for the night. We were sitting beside one another on the big comfortable couch.

"And what was the question?" I asked him teasingly. He smirked a little. We both knew, but I wanted to see if he would ask me again, especially in that sexy way.

He licked his lips before he answered, “will you dance for me?”

“How?” I asked him curiously.

“What are my options?” He tilted his head back on the couch, looking at me as he did. His eyes were moving over my chest. I bit my lip to hide my smile at his attention.

“I could do ballet for you if you want to play that little game. Casting director and the eager dancer willing to do anything. I’d love to roleplay with you. You’re such a good actor and so sexy normally. And of course, I could give you a striptease.”

It was his turn to bite his lip. “Would you let me film you? So I could send it to Jasper?”

I glanced over at him. "Of me doing a striptease?"

“Yes.” His nose was faintly pink.

"Yes," I answered as I crawled into his lap so that I could straddle his waist. He slid his hands over my shoulders and down my back as he pulled me close to him. "Not tonight, though. Give me some time. So I can prepare and do it right for both of you."

Edward looked so shy at that moment, even if he was very turned on. “Do you mind if I record it?”

"Not at all," I reassured him. "I'm surprised you haven't before. I loved it when you took my pictures. It turned me on so much. And obviously, I enjoyed doing it with Jasper."

He paused for a minute, running his finger underneath my jaw before finally looking into my eyes. “Can I do that again? Can I take your picture like that again?”

“Of course,” I said instantly.

"I want to do it right now. Will you let me?" He began to kiss my neck. I gasped in surprise as he nibbled at my throat. Goosebumps started to dot my arms.

My first instincts were to tell him no. It had been a long day, and I knew both of us were tired. But dancing with him had been more exhilarating than exhausting. It felt entirely sensual while being fully dressed. I think he also liked showing off in that way in front of his friends.

I nodded slowly. “Do you want me to change?” I offered.

"No." He shook his head quickly. "Put on some dark lipstick, though. But first," Edward whispered as he held my chin, bringing me into a passionate kiss that lasted several long minutes. When he pulled away, I was breathless. "Go, do your lips and meet me by the pool with your camera."

“Yes, sir,” I breathed, pulling away from him with a smile.

Episode Seventy-five: Make Me Forget

Warning: this episode contains graphic sexual descriptions. Reader discretion is advised. Intended for a mature audience only. (18+)

It was late afternoon when I got into the house from the airport. Edward was still at work, he was recording for the day after an early breakfast meeting. For the first time in ages, the following day, we were going out around LA to film with Seth and Tyler. It felt like we were finally going to do something nice and normal for once. I needed it.

I put my suitcase into the closet to deal with later before collapsing into bed. Removing everything but my panties, I turned away from the sunshine flowing from the opened curtains. Closing my eyes tightly so I could quickly fall into a deep sleep, I didn’t even bother to cover up.

It was dark when I woke up again. Edward's warm, smooth hands slid over my arms. His lips were on my ear. "Hello, my love," he whispered, light and sweet. "I missed you,” the words were almost like music, the way he said them. His fingertips brushed over my bare stomach, just skimming under my breast.

“I missed you, too.” I rolled over in his arms and ran my fingers over his cheeks and jaw. “How was your day?”

“Boring. It was just commercial stuff. That’s even what the meeting was about. Anyway, how was your flight?”

“Boring,” I reflected back at him softly. Sighing heavily, I pushed myself closer to him. “Thank you for this weekend.”

“You don’t have to keep thanking me, Bella,” he whispered into my hair.

“Don’t be stupid. Of course, I have to. You know that I will. How could I not?”

Edward smiled a little bit, pulling back to look at me. "I know. It's part of the reason that I love you," he told me quietly, laying his forehead against mine. "You are such a grateful person. It makes me realize all the good things that I have in my life."

"I can't believe you-" I began, but I didn't know how to continue. There were so many things I couldn't believe. My life had been such a whirlwind in the past few months. I just shook my head and swallowed heavily.

“I want to give you everything. You know that, right? I would give you the entire universe if I could,” he responded, his hands going over my bare arms again. I wondered if Jasper had told him about our conversation. It wasn’t a secret, of course. I wanted Edward to know all of those things as well.

"I know," I answered sincerely. "You're doing an outstanding job of it too, Edward. Truly."

He pulled me closer to him. My breasts smashed into against his button-down shirt, his hands resting on my back. "Tell me what you need right now."

"I need a shower," I began, moving my hands over his shoulders. "Then I want to put on a nice dress and lingerie, and I want you to take me out to dinner. And then afterward, I want you to bring me home and tear my clothes off." I rested my chin on his chest, watching his expression.

Edward smirked a little, his hands moving down to my ass to grip it tightly. “Literally or figuratively?”

I didn’t hesitate. “Literally. You can buy me new ones.”

He laughed, his face turning a little red. It was visible even in the darkness. “Shall I rip your panties off, too?”

“Yes. I’ll wear some lacey ones. If you dig your fingers into the sides, one good tug and they’re in shreds,” I told him evenly.

Edward laughed again despite himself and gave me a sigh. “We could order dinner instead.”

“Oh, not in the mood for panty ripping?” I teased.

“No. I want to skip to the panty ripping. Obviously,” he said as he gripped my ass tightly again, his fingers digging into the fabric of my underwear.

“Take me out,” I purred against his neck, kissing along his jaw. “Let me be beautiful for you. Get me drunk. Let me be yours tonight. I don’t want to think about anything else for a little while.”

“How can I say no to that?” He murmured, his hand skimmed over my thigh as he slid it down to my knee. He drew it up to his hip as he brought my lips into a kiss.

We showered together, but he left me to get ready on my own. First, I put on my makeup, picking a lovely shade of dark lipstick just for him. After blow drying my hair, I finally got dressed.

Edward was working in his office while he waited for me. As soon as he turned around to look at me, I knew that he liked the dress. His eyes got wide and dark, his expression hungry as he looked over the short navy blue lace cocktail dress that hugged my body tightly. I had gotten it just to wear for him. I wore his favorite birthday heels.

“Wow,” he breathed out. “I’m not sure I have the words. Turn around. Let me see all of you.”

I slowly spun to show him my ass. That’s really what he wanted to see. I looked over my shoulder at him as he sat in his computer chair. “Do you like it?”

“I want to fuck you on the desk right now,” he replied bluntly. “Are you sure you want me to ruin that pretty dress because I am going to rip it from your body.”

“It was literally five dollars at the thrift store by the apartment in Queens. But, if you like it that much, I can take it off,” I offered as I came to stand in front of him.

“Mm, I do like it,” he commented, his eyes moving over me again before biting his lip. “Take it off.”

I unzipped it and let it drop to the floor. Walking out of his grip before he could have me, I giggled the whole way back to our bedroom.

The next vintage early 2000's dress was from the same thrift store. This one was also lacy but black with a high neck collar and a frilly, if not too short, skirt. This time before I came out, I pulled up my hair away from my neck. The dress was backless, so I wasn't wearing a bra.

This time, I didn't need to be asked to do a slow turn for him. When I stopped to see his expression, he was smiling at me with his hands in his pockets while standing in the middle of his workspace.

“May I ask a question?” Edward inquired, his eyes flicking up and down my body as he took a few steps towards me in the middle of the room. His tongue flicked over his bottom lip.

“Of course.”

He made a little sound in his throat, his hungry eyes settling on mine. “How rough can I be?”

"As rough as you want," I offered readily.

“See… You say that,” he said with a little sigh. He didn’t believe me. He was always so scared of hurting me. He should have known by then that I wasn’t a delicate girl.

“We can have a safe word if it makes you feel better,” I replied as I held his dark gaze. Edward licked his lips again and slowly considered my words. “You wouldn’t do anything to harm me anyway. You’ve never even been close to it.”

“I’m so much stronger than you. What if I hurt you?”

“So you’ll leave a bruise? I don’t see you accidentally choking me out tonight,” I said, rolling my eyes. “I’m not that fragile. You know that. You’ll break the bed before you break me.”

“Oh, god,” he laughed nervously. His cheeks flushed as he took in a deep breath. “Are you sure we can’t skip dinner?”

“Nope,” I grinned playfully as I closed the distance between us. Edward put his hands on my hips, sliding them down to my ass before moving them against my exposed back. I could feel his erection against my stomach.

"This powerplay thing we do is weird sometimes, but I'm always turned on, so I guess it works," he joked with a charming little smile. "I'm not sure who is supposed to be in control tonight. But I feel like it's supposed to be one of us."

“You can always be in control. You just have to decide to take it if you want it,” I flirted, running my fingers over his chest delicately. “And I always want you to be in control.”

I saw something break in him a moment before Edward grabbed me up by the hips and practically threw me on top of his recording table. My arms tangled around his neck as his mouth smothered mine. His lips were minty from brushing his teeth, delicious and overpoweringly sweet. I could actually feel the lipstick smearing against our skin. His fingers pushed up my skirt, shoving it over my hips.

When he pulled away from me, his hands went roughly to my knees and yanked my legs apart before burying himself between my legs. With no hesitation, he began to lick and kiss me through the fabric of my lacy panties.

“Oh, god! Fuck! Eddie," I moaned, my head hanging off the edge of the recording table, my legs high over his shoulders. I had imagined doing this with him so many times on this table in his office, but as always it was so much better than the reality.

I came quickly, and when I did, Edward pulled away with a smile on his face. With his hand on the back of my neck, he pulled me up for another kiss.

“I want them to be soaking before I tear them from your body,” he whispered in my ear. I shuddered against him. “Now, go fix your lipsticks so I can take you to dinner. I’m hungry.”

"Fuck," I muttered to myself. He looked entirely too pleased with himself as I came to stand on my feet again. When I walked away, he smacked my ass. I laughed, "okay, we can order food."

Edward was smirking to himself, my pretty dark lipstick smeared across his chin. “Oh. No. We're going somewhere nice, I think. Have a quiet, slow meal. Lots of wine. I want you to sit there the whole time and think about how wet your panties are for me. But, I want you to know that they're not nearly as wet as they're going to be by the end of the night."

I felt a little dazed by his words as I stumbled my way back to our bathroom once again to fix my face.

Damn, what a sexy man.

I was so in a daze that I didn't realize we didn't even discuss a restaurant. He just drove. I didn't mind, though. Edward had terrific tastes. Apparently, he decided on a Greek place. I did say I wanted him to take control. It was nice, actually.

We ordered a bottle of wine which I drank most of. He kept refilling my glass for me without having to be asked until I was warm and tipsy. His hand rested high on my thigh the entire time we were there, sometimes mindlessly massaging my skin. No one could see it but me.

Edward had his arms wrapped around me as we waited for the valet. A guy with a camera came up to us quickly, smiling. He took a couple of pictures.

“Hi, Eddie. How are you tonight?” The paparazzi asked.

"Fantastic," he said pleasantly despite being rather stiff behind me. He wasn't in the mood to be Eddie, the actor, but he was going to pretend like it anyway.

“Hi, Bella. Loving your videos. You’re getting quite the following with your cooking stuff,” he said to me next. I was surprised that he even knew my name.

I looked over at Edward, unsure of what I wanted to do or say. Suddenly, I felt embarrassed. He noticed and took over for me.

“Isn’t she doing amazing? Next month she’ll be launching her own channel under the Cullen Network on YouTube.” I glanced over at my boyfriend. He winked at me, giving me a little smile. “Lots of exciting things are happening.”

"Sounds great! Can I get another picture?" He asked. Edward looked down at me, and I simply shrugged. Together we posed, his arm around me and mine around his waist as I leaned my head against his chest. "You look really great tonight, Bella," the photographer complimented me. I smiled and blushed, pushing my face into my boyfriend just as he took another picture. Just then, the car arrived. "You two have a good night."

“You, too!” Edward replied pleasantly as he opened the door for me. “It’s cute when you’re shy. It’s so rare,” he teased gently once he was inside.

“I didn’t know what to say,” I admitted.

“It’ll get easier with practice.”

“I’m going to need it once you become a megastar,” I said seriously.

“Your faith in me is astounding,” he said, glancing over at me at a red light.

“I don’t need faith. I only need eyes to see what you’re going to accomplish,” I told him as my hand slipped down his thigh, squeezing it gently as he drove. “You are smart, talented, determined, and beyond charming. Add on top of that you’re incredibly sexy…” I gripped him through his slacks, making him moan softly. “I can’t tell you how much I’ve missed you.”

“I’ve missed you, too,” he breathed.

"Oh…" I drew out. "By the way, we don't have to use condoms tonight. The IUD is effective right away."

“Well, that is wonderful information to have,” Edward smirked, his eyes on the road. I saw his cheeks suck in a little as I tightened my grip on him. “Damn. Between your hand and your mouth, it’s hard to concentrate.”

“Is there something else you’d rather me do with my mouth?” I asked, smoothing the flat of my palm over him.

“I want you to suck on my cock,” he said in a thick, husky voice. It was delicious and rough, dripping with desire.

“Yes, sir,” I whispered, gripping him again. I could see the corners of his mouth as they twitched up into a smile.

As soon as we pulled into the garage, Edward brought me over to him in a deep and powerful kiss, his hand on the back of my neck while the other undid my buckle. Undoing his own, we turned to face each other completely in our seats. My hands hurried to his pants, unbuttoning them before yanking down the zipper.

Eagerly I brought him into my mouth, wanting only to give him pleasure. He moaned loudly, his hand resting on the back of my head as I bobbed up and down. His skin was so soft and warm in my mouth, my tongue easily sliding over him. He hit the back of my throat, again and again, his other hand sliding over my bare back.

Carefully, he undid the three buttons at the collar. He pulled me up for a kiss, his lips smashing to mine as he pulled the top of my dress down. Roughly, Edward pulled me over into his lap, his mouth instantly going to my breasts. My hips swiveled and swirled against him, his hard-on rubbing perfectly against the center of my already slick underwear.

With his teeth on my neck, I felt his fingers dig into the black lace of my cheap thin panties. His nails easily pierced through the fabric. Rips and tears sounded until it was fully clutched in his fingers. His hands pulled in opposite directions, shredding the lace away from my ass. He tugged the center away and a second later was inside of me.

“Edward!” I shrieked in pleasurable surprise, my fingers tangling in his hair.

“Oh, fuck,” he moaned against my skin. “I want to feel you cum,” he murmured as he pressed his hand between us and my thighs. I tightened around him, egging him on further. He played roughly, his teeth dragging over my bare shoulder. “Harder,” he growled as his other hand gripped the back of my neck to force me down on him.

I was so aroused that my own cum dripped down my thighs and all over his hand and pants. My orgasm only spurred him on further. He brought his fingers to my mouth, pushing them between my lips so that I could taste myself. I moaned around him, shaking with the effort of our fucking. We were making the whole car rock violent. The windows began to fog. Steam built up on them until I couldn’t see out of it anymore.

Edward wrapped his fingers around my panties again and gave them a sharp yank that easily broke the thin band. Snapping against my skin, it ripped entirely away as he tugged it from my hips.

Our movements were wild and frantic, desperate to make up for the lost time. His fingers twisted into my ponytail, my hands clutching the collar of his blazer. I wanted him to fuck me until I forgot everything, including my name.

“Yes, yes, yes,” he chanted in a low tone as his head lolled back against his seat. “Fuck, Bella,” he moaned my name as I came around him again. “That’s it.” His fingers dug into my back as he joined me, both of us shaking.

“Wow,” I whimpered as I leaned my forehead against his neck to catch my breath. His firm hands dragged up my sweaty back. Edward took my hair into his hand again, pulling me back gently.

“I’m not done with you,” he whispered as he pressed kisses along my jaw. “Go to our room. Take off the dress but leave your shoes on.” And then Edward opened the car door for me.

"Yes, sir," I smirked to myself. When I turned to look at him as I went through the door that connected the garage to the house, I could just make out him putting my shredded panties in his jacket pocket through the foggy glass. There was a small pleased smile on his face.

Episode: Seventy-four: Wept

Jake took Monday off so we could spend it together. Alone, he and I went to the cemetery to visit our father's grave. His mother, who died of cancer when he was twenty, was buried beside him. They were obviously well cared for, both covered in flowers and little tokens of love. We sat on the ground beside one another, my arm around his own as he cried. He wept for our father, whom he missed terribly. For our missed opportunities as a family. Because his parents would never meet his daughter. And all I could do was be there to quietly support him. As emotional as it was for me, it was just as hard for him.

"I know you're happy right now, Pops. It would be so much better if you were here though," he said to the headstone. He picked at the lush damp green grass underneath us. Jacob had created a pile of blades beside him. "But I did it. I promised you that I would find her, and here she is. And she's everything we could have hoped for."

“Jake,” I sighed his name, resting my head on his shoulder.

"It almost makes it harder, somehow." He couldn't look at me. "If you were terrible and didn't want anything to do with us, it wouldn't be a big loss. To know he's missing out on you… It breaks my heart, Bella. You were what he always dreamed of."

A tear slipped down my cheek, and he wiped it away gently. "I wish he had found me. I wish he would have called the cops. Something. Anything. Maybe my mom would still be alive, and I would have known him. But then maybe you wouldn't exist. I don't know. It's so complicated."

"Mom always tried to help Dad when he was looking for you. I spent all last night trying to imagine a world where maybe they found you together and brought you home. Where I had a big sister. It makes me so angry about what we missed. The kind of relationship we could have had."

"Will have. I'm here now. This wasn't where I was born, but this is where my family is from. This is my home now, too. I'll be back soon, I swear to you, Jake."

“Thanks for coming,” he breathed. His big hand wrapped around mine and he squeezed it tightly. Leaning over, he pressed a kiss to my temple. Jake’s lips were plush like mine, soft and tender. I leaned into it, turning to rest my forehead against his.

I nodded a little. “Of course. Thanks for being so welcoming. It’s more than I ever-” I stopped, unable to find the right words.

“Yeah.” He nodded in return, smirking down at me a little bit after taking a deep calming breath. “Okay. Come on. Let's go have lunch with the old folks.”

We met Vanessa, Alice, our grandfather, Aunt Sue, and Uncle Harry at a local seafood restaurant for lunch. It involved lots of delicious salmon which I thoroughly enjoyed. My aunt and uncle brought pictures of my family for me to take home to keep. My grandfather allowed me to take photos with him as well as the rest of the family. His smile was small, but it was there as he rested his large hand on my shoulder.

When I stood beside my Uncle Harry, I realized that being beside his twin was the closest I was ever going to get to taking a picture with my father. They had the same face, one that resembled my own. He put his arm around me, and I could see his eyes tearing up even though he was smiling. When we said goodbye, he hugged me for a long time and patted my shoulder. His warm eyes lingered on my face before going with Sue in her old truck.

I didn't want to take Alice to the airport that evening. I would miss her so much. I had missed having my best friend so close to me all the time. I didn't realize how much comfort she brought to me every day. But, I knew as much as I disliked being without her, I would be sadder without Edward. I loved her with all of my heart, but I knew that I couldn't live without him. He was my heart.

On the drive, we talked about the LA office we were going to set up together. It was going to be bigger, better, and with more room for growth. We would have a basketball court and a gym. Daycare services. A job center. Then we began to joke about the Sydney branch. If I wanted to raise my little Australian babies in his home country around his siblings, Alice would find a way to eventually follow.

It was just after eleven when I got back to the hotel. I texted Edward my goodnights since he had to go to bed early. He had to work in the morning. First, some sort of early meeting before going to record for a few hours. I texted Jasper as well. We had sent a lot of messages over the weekend, but we hadn't been able to talk since Friday morning. I had sent him dozens of pictures, though.

“Can I call?” He messaged back. I called him instead as I laid on the uncomfortable hotel bed. The room was only lit up by my laptop screen as I edited pictures that I had taken earlier in the day with my family. “Hello there, dove,” he said, his voice seemed tired and stressed.

"Hi. Are you okay?" I asked right away. I put the computer down and sunk down onto the bed under the covers, getting more comfortable so that I could give him my full attention.

“Yeah… I’m just-” He stopped and sighed, “it doesn’t matter.”

“Yes, it does. Of course, it does. Tell me what’s wrong,” I pressed. I knew he was upset and Edward was already asleep so he wouldn’t have anyone else to talk to. I didn’t want him to hold it in.

“Oh, it’s just that I had another stupid row at work. That prick Jones just takes it out of me,” he explained with another little sigh. His voice was so drained. I could imagine the way his mouth pulled down in a frown.

“What does he do?” I questioned gently.

"He literally wants me to work all the goddamn time. When you were here was the least I've worked in ages, and I basically had to piss off half my co-workers just to not work sixty goddamn hours a week. And fucking heaven forbid if I take a sickie like a human being. He has such unrealistic expectations of what I can accomplish in a day. And he's always on this stupid powertrip. Thinking he can lord over our every fucking second but he can come and go as he damn well pleases. Giving me shit for taking thirty minutes to have lunch. Plus, he's a pig to all the ladies. A real fucking creep. Maybe not stare at their tits when they’re trying to talk to you, yeah? Maybe try to be a little bit of a professional," he ranted angrily. He huffed at the end, just feeling more exhausted for having gotten it out.

"I'm sorry. I wish I could be there to make it better," I replied quietly. There was nothing else I could do or say, though. It made me feel awful. He had been so warm and encouraging to me in the week before, and I didn't have the right words to give him the same things.

“Mm, just like you did before?” He asked in a little hum of pleasure as he remembered our day together alone in Sydney. It might have started terribly for him, but it ended very well for everyone involved.

I giggled a little and flushed. "Maybe not just like before. First, I would try distracting you a little with some dinner and wine."

He gave a soft sigh. "Then, can I have you for dessert?"

"Oh, just me?" I asked teasingly. "No macarons?"

“Only if I can feed them to you,” Jasper said charmingly before his voice changed, shifting into something sadder. “I miss you. I knew I would, but I didn’t realize this much. I didn’t figure I would become as attached to you this quickly. It feels just like with Tony.”

There was a little pause, the moment hanging between us.

“I miss you too,” I said softly, my cheeks heating at the words. I knew how much they meant to him. “I wish you were here with me right now. I wish I could hold you. I think we could both use a good long cuddle.”

"Yeah, actually that does sound really nice," he said in a tiny voice before sighing again quietly. I could feel his depression in my soul, and I wanted to take it away. Swallowing back a lump in my throat, I took in a deep breath.

“Jasper, baby, you can come now if you want to. We will do whatever you need us to do to help you if that’s what you want. We both want you in the states with us. If you’re so unhappy, just quit. No one will think less of you,” I rushed out. “It’s okay to walk away sometimes.”

"I need the money," he said, his voice soft and sad. I wondered where all his cash went. His apartment was modest, and his jeep was older. I didn't want to pry, though. I didn't know enough about his life yet. It was something I would have to ask Edward about. It was obviously an issue he was sensitive about, and I didn't want to step on a nerve. "And I can't afford to break my lease."

“I’ll buy your tickets. I’ll help you with your lease,” I said with no hesitation. “I’ll pay someone to pack and ship your things. Or we’ll go back in a month and do it together.”

“You would, wouldn’t you?”

“Yes. In a heartbeat.”

"Oh, Bella, my dove. My sweet dove,” he paused again. “I can see why Tony fell for you so easily," he said the words almost wistfully. "I wish that I could but I can't. I've already put in my notice and my request to use my paid time off. I need the money and… I can’t walk away yet. I want to do this properly. It'll only be another month or so before I get to look into those lovely eyes and kiss those soft lips again. Don’t worry."

“Mine or Edward’s?” I asked with a smile.

“Mm. Both. Definitely both,” he replied without hesitation.

“Yeah, you better kiss us like you miss us,” I teased sassily. Biting my bottom lip, I imagined his mouth on my own. I wanted to feel him again.

“I’m going to do more than kiss you, my sweet little girl,” he said in a seductive voice that dripped sex, thick like honey.

“Damn,” I sighed heavily. “I really do wish you were here. Edward and I have been talking about the secluded cabin we want to rent when you come. Go out into the wilderness and be as loud and as adventurous as we want to be.”

“Wow,” Jasper breathed. “Mm, I cannot wait.”

I giggled lightly. “Neither can I. Obviously if I’m willing to pay good money to have you come tonight.”

“Oh, do you want me to come tonight?” He said teasingly. I giggled again, smiling to myself.  “Your laugh is so lovely, Bella.”

“How can you be both perverted and charming?” I questioned as I felt my cheeks warm slightly at his compliment.

"It's a talent," Jasper joked in a chuckle before becoming more earnest. "Are you doing okay right now? Seriously. I'm just annoyed about work and missing you both. You're actually the one going through something, and you're fussing over me."

“It’s not a bad something, though. It’s just a lot to take in at once is all. It’s just been unexpected. I’m overwhelmed in a good way. I am…” I trailed off, not sure the word I wanted to use. “Sad, I guess? About certain things but they’re things that I can’t change now anyway. I just never thought this was a mystery that would never be solved because I really didn’t want it to be.”

“Why?”

I felt terrible for my answer. “Because I thought he didn’t want me like most absent fathers. It just makes the most sense, statistically. And I assumed by the way my grandmother treated me that it wasn’t something I wanted to look into too deeply.”

He asked gently, “how did she treat you?”

“Like a shameful obligation. One she tried her best for most of the time, but one she didn’t want. I don’t know. Everything about my childhood has this dark filter now. A blood red one. How could she have loved me, or my mother, if she put us through that? How could she teach me piano, while knowing her husband would have killed me if I hadn’t been his granddaughter because of the color of my skin?”

Jasper let out a long sad sigh. “I honestly can’t even imagine. Is there anything I can do?”

I licked my lips, swallowing the lump back again. “Yes. Absolutely. You can take my offer,” I started lightly, making him laugh. “You can get on the first flight out of Sydney in the morning and-”

“Oh, god,” he laughed, sweet and soft. “You’re as bad as him.”

“Well, we do have some things in common,” I teased seductively. “We both want you.”

"I would say that you're both annoyingly determined, but I think I like that better." He let out a huffing breath, and I could hear the phone shift a little. "Why, though? We've just met. Why would you want me butting into your perfect relationship and life? It would be so much easier if I-"

I wasn't going to let him finish. "You're not butting in, Jasper. I want you for a thousand reasons but-" I stopped, trying to think about how to explain my feelings to him. "If you're Edward's missing piece, it means you're mine, too. And I think you are. He was so closed off and a little sad, not that I knew that when I first met him and now I understand why. He missed you. And, I realize that it was only for a short while, but I liked what we had in Sydney. I liked being with you, with and without Edward. I want to be with you because first, you're my friend. And you love the man that I do and only want the best for him, too. For much longer than I have. I want to give him everything he has ever longed for. I want to give him the world with you."

His breath caught in his throat. “You make me want to take that flight so fucking bad.”

“Good,” I said softly. “I promise you that wouldn’t regret it if you did.”

"I know that I wouldn't." I could almost see him smile in the way he spoke. "If anything else, just to kiss you for being so sweet to me."

“Well, you are to me too. So, it only seems fair. You’ve been nothing but wonderful to me from the second you met me.”

“I don’t know what I’ve done to deserve you both,” he said in a disbelieving tone.

“Eddie does and so do I,” I replied firmly. “Jasper, I don’t think you know how extraordinary you are.”

"Stop, you're making me blush," he said teasingly. I giggled, and he chuckled in return.

I looked at the clock on the laptop screen with a heavy sigh. It was getting late, and I had a tough morning ahead of me. "I don't want to, but I need to head to bed now. I have a long day tomorrow."

“Text me when you get home, yeah?” He said gently.

"I will, I promise. Sleep well tonight. Try to relax, okay?"

“I will,” Jasper answered with a little sigh in his voice. I could tell that he didn’t want to stop talking and neither did I. “Sweet dreams. Goodnight, dove.”

"Goodnight, sugar," I said with a little sigh of my own, ending the call and placing the cell beside me in the darkness. I laid in bed for a few minutes, just staring at the ceiling. I was missing both of my men at that moment, and the bed seemed so big without them.

I spent the morning before my flight with my aunt, uncle, and Vanessa. We had lunch at Sue's. She gave me a beautiful handmade necklace that she created just for me. It was made from gorgeous black onyx beads, delicate and small. There were five strands, one for each of the Black children and one for our father. It clung to my neck like a choker, a tiny silver wolf's paw charm dangling in the center of the bottom strand. I loved it. I put it on right away.

She moved my hair out of the way to look at the necklace. Then she held my chin tenderly, rubbing her thumb over it. Lightly, Aunt Sue patted my cheek and said, “I’ve made all the girls necklaces. It fits you. I’m so glad you like it.”

I promised everyone books from the pictures I had taken. Over the next few weeks, I would be making several for both sides of my new family. I was really excited about it, though. I also promised Vanessa that I would come up again before the baby was born in a few weeks so that I could take maternity pictures for her and Jake. I knew I couldn't stay away from them long now that I knew them.

Though I sobbed the entire drive to the airport, I was so ready to be back home. Back to Los Angeles. Back to my Edward, our bed, and spectacular life. Just two nights away from him was too much. It was making me anxious. If only I could just convince Jasper to join us sooner rather than later, everything would be perfect.

Episode Seventy-Three: Chief

When I woke up in the morning in the hotel, Alice was laying with her head on my shoulder with my arm numb underneath. Her mouth was hanging open a little bit, and she was drooling. I grimaced as I looked down at her.

"Ew," I mumbled. I heard Edward snort quietly beside me. When I looked over, he was lying beside me, his hand on my stomach as he watched both of us with a small smile. I smiled in return. "Good morning."

“Morning, beautiful,” he whispered charmingly.

"You could yell, and she wouldn't wake up," I told him softly. He chuckled, leaning over to kiss my mouth gently. I brought my other hand up to his chin, holding him in place as we kissed slowly and tenderly. "What time is it?"

“A little before nine,” he replied, brushing my hair away from my eyes.

"I need to take a shower, and then I'll call Jake," I informed him before looking over at my best friend. Lightly, I kissed her forehead then said in her ear, "you're drooling on me. Please get the fuck off."

She moaned loudly, pushing her face into my neck before grabbing at my waist. “No.”

“I’m not a pillow.”

“Yes, you are,” she answered back. “You’re a loud pillow. You were talking in your sleep.”

“What was I saying?” I asked curiously.

“A whole host of interesting things,” Edward answered. “I’ve heard you talk before but nothing like that. My goodness.”

"She used to yell shit out in her sleep as a kid," Alice told him. "Remember when you screamed out my phone number, and you scared the shit out of me?" She laughed quietly.

“That’s the only phone number I remember off the top of my head still,” I said with a giggle. “You fell out of the bed. I’m just so glad that I don’t sleepwalk anymore.”

"One time we had a sleepover with our friend Brenda, and in the middle of the night she asked Bella to get her toilet paper. And she straight up brought her aluminum foil," she snickered.

"Foil paper and toilet paper are close, in my defense," I laughed as well. "Remember when I put the hanger on my head and walked into the wall?" I looked over at Edward. "I had a vivid dream where I was going to a party, and I went to the closet and put on my hat before trying to leave. I ran into the wall, turned on the light, fell down, and woke up freaking the fuck out. We had a puppy with us in the room at the time, and he freaked out too," I giggled at the memory.

“You were just crying on the floor,” Al shook with laughter. “What were we? Eleven, maybe?”

“Maybe,” I said before wiggling my shoulder. “Seriously, though. Get off. My arm is dead.”

“Fine,” she complained, moving beside me. I flopped my numb arm on top of her, thwacking her with it several times. Alice just giggled. “I’ll get up in a minute.”

“I don’t believe you,” I answered before rolling towards Edward. He pulled me into his arms, holding me tightly to his chest. “Let’s go take a shower together.”

“Oo, kinky,” she mumbled sleepily.

“You’re not invited. The shower is too small,” I said into his chest.

"I mean, if you want to take a shower with her, I don't mind just watching," Edward joked. I pulled back, and he smiled at me innocently. "Or, not. I don't have to watch."

“You’re funny,” I said dryly, shaking my head and snuggling into a little closer. “Another day. Why would you want to play in that dinky shower anyway when there is ours in LA?”

“Mm, true,” he agreed with a smirk before it changed slightly. “You called it ours.”

“Well, it’s yours. I just share it with you.”

“No, it’s yours too,” he said softly before pulling me back to lightly kiss my lips. Edward was so gentle and sweet with me. I loved how tender he could be with me and how the little things made him so happy.

After a quick shower, we all headed back towards the reservation. This time we didn’t need an escort to know where we were going. The drive was beautiful and peaceful, everyone in the car still quiet because we were so sleepy. This time we listened to some music, though.

Jake was waiting for me on the porch when we arrived, gentle rain falling on the red metal roof of the beautiful log cabin. He smiled widely, pulling me into a hug right away.

“You smell like coffee,” he mumbled into my hair. I laughed quietly.

“That’s because I don’t have blood, I have coffee. If a vampire bit me, he’d be awake for days,” I joked. He chuckled at my lameness, pulling me back towards the door of his home.

Vanessa already had brunch waiting for us since she knew we were on the way. All of the leftovers from the day before we were on the table, fresh coffee wafting from a carafe.

"So, I thought after we eat, you and I could go see Ephraim. It'll probably be for the best though if it's just us to start with. I don't know how he'll react, especially if a bunch of people show up at once."

I looked over at Edward, Rosalie, and Alice. They all smiled at me encouragingly. My boyfriend took my hand, giving it a quick squeeze.

“I’d like it if Edward could come with us, at least. He is my partner and the reason we’re here. I want him with me,” I told my brother honestly. I looked at Rosalie and Alice. “Is that okay?”

“Of course,” they both said quickly at the same time.

“I need to go to the store today,” Vanessa chimed in. “If you ladies want to join me, you can.”

“That would be great,” Rose agreed for both of them.

“We’ll have to leave by five to get Edward and Rosalie back to the airport in time for their flights home. Alice leaves tomorrow evening.”

“What time is your flight out on Tuesday?” Jacob asked a little sadly.

“Three.”

"After the baby comes, you two will have to come to stay with us in LA for a couple of weeks. This summer we were already talking about having all of my family come from Australia and renting out a hotel for all of them to stay. I would like it very much if all of you could join us as well. We can go swimming in some nice warm water," Edward said charmingly. It made my heart swell up, and tears come to my eyes. "Of course, that includes all of her family." He looked up to Rose and Alice.

“Wow, this is going to be some party,” I tried to say lightly. He winked at me.

Once we were done eating a slow meal together, Edward, Jacob, and I made our way to the office where my grandfather apparently worked every single day. Being the chief was a fulltime job, and he took it very seriously from what my family said. He was an earnest and stern man, I had been warned. And cold. I was told not to expect very much from him. He knew I existed, but nothing else besides that I was the reason that his son ended up in a wheelchair. I was assured that, of course, that wasn't my fault. And they were right. It was my grandfather's.

The space was an old temporary building that had long since become permanent. It was clear that it was probably from the seventies, maybe earlier, and had been patched up a thousand times. An old wooden wheelchair ramp went to the door. A beat-up old blue pickup took up a single spot in front of a sign that said ‘Reserved for the Chief.'

Jacob didn’t knock but instead just opened the door, popping his head inside. I was on the ramp behind him, suddenly scared to go inside. Edward was behind me, his hands on my forearms comfortingly.

“Hey, Grandpa,” Jacob started cheerfully, not going inside or allowing us in further. I peeked around his shoulder to see a tall man with long stark white hair braided in a single rope down his back. He was wearing a blue flannel shirt and a pair of blue jeans, along with some cowboy boots. His back was turned to the door, pulling something out of a filing cabinet.

“Hello, Jacob,” he said calmly, not looking up from what he was doing.

“Do you have a minute?” He asked.

“Hm. Since you’re my grandson, I might have two,” he said dryly, still not looking up from whatever he was looking for. “What is it that you need?”

“I don’t need anything,” he replied. “There is someone that I want you to meet.”

Jacob finally took a couple of steps forward while taking my hand and pulling me in with him. Eventually, the older man turned to look at us. Edward stayed just outside the door, watching quietly.

His expression was indescribable. A million emotions filtered through his eyes as he looked me over. Slowly he took a step forward, looking between Jacob and myself. He didn't say anything, and I think my brother was too scared to because I felt his hand shaking in mine. The older gentleman wiped his mouth, sucking in a deep breath through his nose. He looked as if he had just seen a ghost.

Suddenly he closed the distance between us, pulling me into his long arms. He didn’t say anything as he hugged me. I began to cry a little, shaking as he held my head to his chest.

"You're Billy's girl, aren’t you?" He finally asked. I nodded against his chest. "What's your name?"

“Bella. Isabella Swan,” I breathed, my voice shaky.

He pulled me back to look at my face, placing both of his big warm, soft wrinkled hands on my cheeks so that he could look into my eyes. He pressed a kiss to my forehead. "Welcome to the family, Isabella."

“Thank you,” I cried, tears flowing heavily down my cheeks. It was beyond my control.

“My son loved you,” he stated simply. I nodded my head, swallowing back heavily all my emotions. I couldn’t speak. I didn’t have the words or the ability. He brushed his big thumbs under my eyes. “Look at you. Billy couldn’t deny you, not that he wanted to. You look just like your grandmother. Just like her,” he repeated.

"So I've been told," I said with a watery little laugh before looking down. I glanced over at Edward, and he gave me a soft and hopeful smile.

“Who are you?” My grandfather said shortly, looking over when I did. My love stood straighter and walked into the building as well.

“This is my partner, Edward,” I introduced him with a small smile that he returned.

“He’s the reason we were able to find each other,” Jake added in quickly.

“Hello, it’s nice to meet you, sir,” he said politely. I could tell he was nervous because his voice was so controlled. He offered him his hand. My grandfather looked at it for a minute before shaking it back firmly.

“Well, come in, then. Tell me about yourself, girl. Where have you been hiding all these years?” He asked afterward, finally letting me go. He waved his hand towards a couch, wanting us to sit while we talked.

“Texas for the first seventeen years, New York City for almost fifteen now, but I’m sort of in the process of moving into Los Angeles right now,” I explained, sitting on the well worn blue couch. “Which is going to be even better than I expected because now I get to be even closer to my family.”

Edward smiled as he sat beside me, putting his arm around me as I leaned into him comfortingly.

“Are you her husband?” He asked directly.

“Not yet. Hopefully soon though,” he grinned happily at me. I nodded my head. “She’s forcing me to be patient, but it’s rather hard since your granddaughter happens to be one of the most amazing women on the face of this earth.”

“Do you have any children?” He asked me next. I shook my head slowly. “How old are you?”

“Thirty-three. My birthday is October fifth,” I answered.

“What do you do for money?” He asked, looking at Edward again. “Are you taking care of my girl?”

I laughed and sighed before I decided to answer for him, "Eddie is a very talented man. He's a multi-award winning entertainer and writer, not that he would tell you that." I smiled over at my boyfriend again. "He doesn't have to take care of me, but he does it very well anyway. Actually, we're going to be working together now. He has his own growing media empire," I teased, making him blush. He had made the joke before, but he knew that I meant it. I knew what he was capable of.

“What sort of entertainer?” He asked, unimpressed with it.

“Mainly I’m a voice actor,” he finally chimed in. “I’m currently on contract with Disney.”

"They're making the movie he wrote, and he's going to be the lead actor in it," I told my grandfather proudly. "He's even won a Grammy."

“Hm,” he grumbled and nodded his head. “Are you an entertainer as well, then?”

“I’m a photographer.”

“And a very talented musician,” Edward added in, bragging about me. “And she’s quite the entertainer herself, not that she would tell you that,” he used my words against me, winking at me. I rolled my eyes but smiled to myself.

“Have you told the girls yet?” He asked Jacob, his hard eyes glaring. My brother nodded slowly.

“She got to meet everyone yesterday. I wanted to make sure it went well before I brought her to you,” he explained to him quickly. Wordlessly he swatted him hard on the back of the head. “Yeah, I know. I realize. I just didn’t want to overwhelm her. You’re a big deal, Gramps.”

The older man narrowed his dark brown, almost black eyes at his grandson. “Boy, you don’t keep things like that to yourself.”

“Quil knew too. So did the girls. Take it out on them, too,” Jake mumbled. “Everything has been going so fast. I’ve been busy.”

"They're not here right now, and you are," he told him sourly before turning his attention to me again. "Are you hungry?"

"Not particularly, but I'd love to go talk to you over coffee or something, if you are," I offered. "Vanessa made us a lovely breakfast not that long ago."

“That girl is a good cook.” He nodded his head. “Coffee sounds good. Come on, I’ll buy you a cup.”

We talked about my father and my grandmother for a couple of hours at a little restaurant that was settled at the opening of a river that poured into the ocean. The views were stunning. Ephraim was a quiet man and serious to a fault. He didn't laugh the entire time, but he wasn't unkind. Though he kept sending dirty looks over to his grandson and I had a strong feeling he would be hearing about it once I left for the evening. Honestly, I couldn't blame him for it, and I think neither could Jake.

Every person who came to the table to speak to him he would introduce me to them, which was a lot. “This is Bella, Billy’s girl,” he would say with a little nod. Almost everyone seemed to instantly understand, saying how happy they were that I had finally come home and back to the tribe. Back to my family, where I belonged. All I could say was that so was I.

We spoke about my upbringing and my grandparents. We talked about how I didn’t know and always wanted to know my father. I cried more than once. Edward was quiet and supportive the entire time.

When he finally had to get back to work, we stood in front of the restaurant, my cheeks in his hands as he looked me over again.

“Welcome home,” he breathed out softly before kissing my forehead. “We will see each other again soon.”

“Yes, sir,” I said softly.

"I like your manners," he said before walking to his truck. "Teach your brother some."

Jacob and I stood beside each other as we watched him drive away. Finally, he turned to look at me. “Holy shit. That went so much better than expected. What the fuck?”

“What did you expect?”

“Him telling you to wait outside while he beat me with his walking stick,” he mumbled, finally climbing into the driver side door of his nice restored red truck. “Then telling you to go away.”

I sat in the middle in between Edward and my brother the ride back to the house. Rosalie and Alice were obviously having a good time with Vanessa, especially Rose. They seemed to be gossiping like old friends when we came back.

It was hard to leave at five. I didn't want to leave my brother, but I hated more that Edward and Rosalie were leaving. It was the first time in almost two months that I was going to be without him, and even though it was going to be for just two nights, I hated it.

Alice drove us to the airport in Port Angeles, where they would be taking their separate flights. Rosalie's first. We hugged, and I promised to come to see her again when I came back to New York to get my things. I also made her promise to figure out when she and Emmett could come for a visit.

“You’d love California,” I promised.

“Just because you’re there,” she whispered before pressing a kiss to my cheek and hugging her sister goodbye.

Alice gave Edward and I some privacy before his flight. This wasn’t a tearful goodbye. He smiled sweetly at me, my face in his hands as he kissed my lips.

“Text me when you get home,” I said softly when he pulled away. “When I get back, let's go do something fun.”

“Absolutely,” he agreed softly. “It’s a date. I love you.”

“I love you, too. So much. Thank you for this.”

"Stop that," he laughed lightly. "Seriously. This has been one of the best experiences of my life. It has been so wonderful to see you like this. I know you're emotional and have a lot of feelings that you'll deal with because of all of this, but…" He shook his head and swallowed. "It's like you found a whole new part of yourself, and I get to share it with you, and it's so wonderful."

“You are such a good pre-fiance,” I teased, pecking his lips lightly with a smile. “I adore every bit of you, Eddie. You know that?”

"Yeah, I do. But, tell me again," he grinned. I giggled and kissed him deeply with my fingers in his hair. When I pulled away, he had a dopey smile on his face. "Oh, that'll do nicely. Yes. Do that again."

We kissed again and again in the airport lobby until finally, he had to go.

"Hey, kiddo," Alice said playfully when I finally joined her by the rental car. "What do you say you and I get a little dinner and go to the movies since we're here? It's been a long time since it's been just you and me."

“Sounds perfect,” I agreed quietly.

Episode Seventy-Two: Cousins

When we went over to our Aunt Sue's house, we were greeted by a whole gang of shirtless boys and men. They had just come up from the beach where they were obviously surfing in the frigid water. All of them were covered in beautiful black tribal tattoos.

“Bella!” My name was shouted as I was passed around by them, being hugged and kissed by all. They complimented my hair or commented on my height with a joke. I was told that I looked like our shared grandmother twice. Three of the boys had a blue, or partially, blue eye.

A thin, pretty woman with stark white hair came hurrying from the house, an older gentleman following behind. He had the same white hair.

“Boys! Wear shirts! You heathens.” She shooed them away from me before pulling me into a hug. “What a beautiful girl you are,” she whispered as she held me tightly. “My brother would be so happy right now.”

“I am sorry that I didn’t get the chance to meet him,” I whispered.

She cupped my cheek. "Me too," she breathed before she began to cry. "Oh, Harry, she looks just like Ma. Come look."

“She does. That’s uncanny. Is it even the same eye?” He questioned, coming closer. I looked at him so he could inspect them.

“I think so,” my brother chimed in from behind me.

“Hello, sweetheart. Billy was my twin,” Harry told me as he gently brushed a hand over my shoulder.

“Wow! So many twins!” I laughed nervously. I felt on the verge of tears again. “It’s so nice to meet everyone. Thank you for so warmly welcoming me into your home.”

“Is this your fiance?” Sue asked, looking up at Edward.

“Yes, it is,” I grinned, not correcting her. He beamed, his cheeks turning a faint pink.

"Let me see the ring!" she said very excitedly.

“We’re still working on that part,” I informed her with a little laugh. “Trust me, I will show everyone happily when I get it. Edward has great tastes.”

“Thank goodness for Facebook,” she replied cheerfully. “I can’t wait to see it. You make such a lovely couple.”

“Thank you,” I answered politely, ducking my head.

We sat outside for a long time on the beach with everyone, talking. The boys chatted about surfing with Edward and asked me about my love of spicy food. The entire time I sat on his lap, his arms around me comfortingly as everyone told me stories about my father. How much trouble Harry and Billy got into trouble as kids, how smart he was, and how passionate he was about the things he cared about. How he loved animals and fishing. How he loved life, despite being in a wheelchair for thirty years of it.

We talked about the family that wasn’t there, those who were living elsewhere or died. A lot of the tribe were moving away for work. A good number of my family were artists. They worked with wood, clay, weaving, or were clothes makers. There was even a tattoo artist. He had been the one to give most of the men their ink.

Finally, Sue and all the other women went into the kitchen to finish dinner. They refused my help. The men were starting to set up for the bonfire later that night. Alice and Rosalie decided to go for a walk to take pictures of my family’s land. Edward and I decided to take a stroll in the opposite direction towards the giant ancient forest. I brought my camera along. I just needed the alone time with him.

"I feel like this is going well," Edward said just as I took his picture from behind. I could see his smile pulling at his lips. He seemed so pale in this too green world. It made his eyes look all that much greener for it, the red in his hair standing out.

“I think so too,” I agreed. “I think they like you.”

“Just because I brought you back to them.” He turned to look at me. I clicked his photo again. He was startlingly beautiful.

“Five out of five of my sisters agree that you’re super hot and would totally bang you,” I teased gently. I took Edward’s picture as he laughed, his cheeks heating again.

“Well, that’s good to know that I have options,” he threw my jesting right back at me. “But, seeing as you’re my fiance now…”

“There’s no need to correct her,” I replied with a smirk. “You already know the answer, you just can’t ask the question yet.”

“I just want you to tell me you’re going to be my wife,” Edward said quietly, his expression vulnerable.

"I am going to be your wife," I informed him as I walked closer. "I am going to be the mother of your beautiful mixed raced babies. But I'm not going to explain the term pre-fiance to them, yet."

He pulled my body to him, his kiss literally bending me back with its passion.

“I miss you so much,” I whispered against his mouth. We were done with our teasing and flirting. “Tuesday can’t come fast enough. I miss being alone with you.”

"You're going to be so tired," he said worriedly. "I miss you, too, though. We really need some quiet time very soon."

“Agreed one thousand percent,” I sighed against his chest. “I wish we could sneak off into the woods for a few minutes and fuck against a tree,” I muttered as I pressed my face into his shirt, my fingers curling around the fabric. I felt his chest shake with quiet laughter.

“Right? If it was warmer and you were wearing a dress, maybe. Your legs around my waist while I pound-” I groaned, cutting him off before he could finish the dirty talk. Edward laughed, kissing my neck lightly. “So, when I rent that secluded cabin this summer…”

“Oh god, yes,” I moaned. “You and me and Jasper. All alone. Just us for days. Hot weather, a nice place to swim. No computers, no internet. Just each other to keep busy. That and lots and lots of toys.”

Edward growled into my hair, squeezing me tightly in his arms. It was a sound of wanting and desire. One of his big hands traveled down my ass, squeezing it roughly.

“I want to just spend days making you cum over and over again. I want to see if we can fuck you from sunup to sundown.”

“Damn,” I complained, my eyes closing as I imagined it. “I want to be the kind of screwed that it takes a couple of days to recover from.”

“Hm. Why is Bella walking with a limp? Well, you see…" He trailed off, bringing his lips to my ear so he could whisper, "she spent hours and hours tied to a bed, getting fucked in every possible way by her two adoring boyfriends."

"Sometimes, I feel like a plaything between the two of you but in a good way. All I keep thinking is how good you two must have been at sharing and taking care of your toys as kids."

He chuckled, pressing his cheek against mine. “Though you are my favorite thing to play with, you are certainly more precious than any toy. But yeah, actually, we were.”

I laughed, pulling back to look at his sweet face. Slowly, I ran my fingers over his cheek as he pressed his forehead against mine. “I am so grateful to have you and be yours. I love you beyond words. Thank you for giving me everything that you have. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life trying to show you exactly how wonderful you make me feel every second I’m with you.”

His big arms crushed me to his body, his warm mouth on mine. I tangled my fingers in his hair, pulling him closer to me.

I heard my name being called.

“I think your family is looking for us,” he smiled, kissing my forehead.

“My family. Geez, what a month this has been,” I laughed, taking his hand so we could walk together towards the house. “Australia, hospital, family, even more family. Jasper. Kind of been a whirlwind. I shouldn’t be surprised. Everything is more exciting around you.”

“Everything does seem to be an adventure,” he agreed. “Could have done without the hospital. I can’t do anything about my mother.”

“That would have been very different if I had been well.”

“Lucky for her,” he smirked at me.

After dinner, where all of them seemed to eat piles and piles of food, we went out onto the beach for the bonfire. It was huge, quickly roaring once set. Edward and I brought out the candy finally for the smores. The youngest of the boys, fifteen or sixteen, descended upon it like wolves.

“This is better than Halloween,” Collin, the youngest of my cousins and Sue’s baby boy, said after probably his tenth piece.

“Please don’t make yourself sick,” his mother complained, rolling her eyes at him.

“I’m fine,” he said with a chocolatey smile. “Thanks, cuz.”

“Thank Eddie. He’s the one that got it all,” I told him, leaning into my boyfriend. I had my temple resting against his shoulder, just watching everyone.

“Thanks, Eddie. You’re not too bad for a white guy.”

Aunt Sue swatted him on the back of the head, hard. She wordlessly tilted her head at him with wide eyes. Edward just laughed.

“I’ll take that as a compliment,” he replied.

“It is,” Collin promised, leaning away from his mother as he said it. I giggled.

“Jake says you’re thinking about getting some ink done,” one of my older cousins said. He was the tattoo artist, Embry.

“I always want more ink done,” I told him truthfully. “It’s just money and time that stop me from being covered head to toe.”

"Let me know next time you’re here, and I will hook you up. Anything you want. On me. A welcome to the family gift."

“Wow, that would be amazing,” I replied, my breath catching in my throat. “I’ve got a tattoo for everyone else. You’ll have to help me find one that will honor my father. We filmed the last tattoos I got, maybe we could film this one, too. That could be a fun video to make,” I glanced over at my boyfriend. “Maybe a little emotional.”

“Whatever you want to do, love.” He smoothed his hand down my back comfortingly.

"Maybe you can get one too, and I'll hold your hand," I teased. He scrunched up his nose, making a silly little face at me before pecking my forehead.

“I’ll be better next time. I know what to expect.”

“Mmhmm,” I grinned wickedly, looking up at Edward adoringly with big innocent eyes. “It’s okay. You like to suffer for your art.”

“I hate that you’re right about that,” he complained, leaning his head against mine.

“So, are you going to do a video where you eat like straight peppers?” Quil asked, toasting a marshmallow. “You can try Carolina reapers or something.”

"Oh, no," I shook my head. I looked at Edward when he didn't say anything. "No, you can suffer alone with Seth. I'm not stupid. You will hurt your gut. I'll try just about whatever hot things you want, but I draw the line there."

“Yeah,” he nodded his head quickly. “Probably for the best.”

“Someone has to save you from yourself,” I mumbled under my breath. He swatted my thigh playfully, making me giggle.

“Why don’t we put on some music?” Someone said from around us. Then somebody called for a new bag of marshmallows and the snickers.

We stayed until close to midnight, heading back to Jake’s house with the girls for a little while after we left Sue’s. We stayed outside to talk, not ready to end the evening. No one was ready.

Rebecca and Rachel pulled me into a hug at the same time, each of them pressing their face against my shoulder.

“We love you,” Rebecca whispered as her fingers dug into my jacket. “I’m so glad you came today. Thank you for coming so quickly. You don’t know what that means to us.”

“Me too,” I breathed as I began to cry again despite trying my best not to. “I love you, too. I can’t wait until we can figure out when to come up again. Or you can come to LA for a visit.”

"That sounds perfect," Rachel chirped, putting her hand on my cheek before smoothing her thumb over it to wipe away a tear. "We can go shopping together."

“Yes, absolutely.”

“We’ll have a girl’s day,” Rebecca added.

“Are you kidding me? Eddie loves shopping more than I do,” I teased him lightly. “But I cannot wait for our girl’s day. Shopping, lunch, spa. And I’ll cook for you. You too, Vanessa. We’ll leave the baby with Jake and Eddie.”

“Do you trust us with a newborn?” My brother teased.

“I trust him. I don’t know about you yet,” I winked at both of them teasingly. “Edward is amazing with babies. All of his nieces adore him. He’s probably better with kids than me.”

"I just like children and they like me. Babies are easy, though. They only want, like, four things. To be clean, fed, not sleepy, and happy. You just gotta pay attention." He rubbed my back, trying to be somewhat modest.

"I think you'd like being a stay-at-home dad," I commented.

"Sounds perfect. I'll retire from acting and make dumb shit videos for fun with the wee babes all day, and you can go out and take pictures," Edward kidded happily in a funny accent.

"Like you can slow down." I rolled my eyes. I brought my sister in law into a hug, her pregnant belly pressing against me. "Look, I know we just met, but I want you to know I am going to spoil this baby rotten. And I want to take photos for you."

“Oh, Bella, that would be so nice,” she sniffled, hugging me back before pulling away to look me in the eyes. “Thank you.” It was for so much more than just my offer.

“Of course.”

“We’ll see you tomorrow.” Vanessa squeezed me once before letting go.

Jake brought me into a hug last, pressing his face against the top of my head before kissing it. “I’ll see you tomorrow, sis.”

“Yes, you will. And we’ll go meet my grandfather,” I said into his chest.

“Yay,” Rachel said dryly. “I’m so sad we get to miss it.” Our brother snorted before sighing. “Good luck. Enjoy your chewing out tomorrow, Jakey.”

“Goodnight!” He shouted at them, both of them giggling as they got back into their car to head towards Seattle. They both had to work the following night and needed to get some rest before. “So, don’t rush tomorrow. You’ll be getting to sleep really late. Just call me when you get up, okay? It doesn’t matter when.”

"It'll be early," I assured Jacob. "I don't know how well I will sleep. I'm too wound up."

“Try to relax. This is just the first of many, many visits, I promise,” he soothed me. My very big younger sibling walked us back to our rental car, opening the door for me. We stood beside it.

“I know.” I hugged him one last time. “See you in the morning, brother.”

All four of us were silent the ride back to the hotel. There was no music, no talking. Rosalie slipped into her room after giving me a tight hug and a soft kiss on the cheek. Alice rubbed my shoulder, giving me a small smile.

“I’ll check on you in a minute,” she whispered.

“Okay,” I replied, following Edward into our hotel room.

I walked to the dresser, pulling out my nightgown to change into. When I looked in the mirror, my hair was frizzy, the braids showing their age and the wear and tear from the day. Carefully, I wiped away my makeup with a cleaning cloth before covering my face with lotion. Edward came behind me, smoothing his hands down my back. He pulled my shirt off for me, kissing my shoulder as he unhooked my bra. It wasn't sexual, but gentle and sweet.

“Do you want to take a shower now?” He asked, carefully pulling my hair bands out. With his fingers, he gently combed through my tangles.

“Let's take one together in the morning.”

He nodded, unbuttoning my jeans. Carefully he pushed them down my hips. I kicked off my shoes and slid them the rest of the way before pulling on my sleeping clothes. Edward drew my hair away from my neck, kissing it lightly as he watched us both in the mirror.

“My pretty little love,” he whispered, brushing his nose against the back of my ear.

"My handsome, sweet man," I smiled in return, closing my eyes as I leaned back against him.

“Ready to try to get some sleep?” I nodded in response. Effortlessly, he picked me up in his strong arms and placed me into the bed just to make me giggle. Edward leaned over me, spreading kisses over my lips and cheeks for a moment before there was a knock on our shared door. He went to it, opening it for Alice who was in her own pajamas. “I’ll give you two a minute. I’m going to run to the gents and get changed.”

"Thanks," Alice grinned at him before coming over to the bed with me. She slid in beside me on her side. I rolled over so that we were eye to eye with one another. Taking both of my hands, she leaned her forehead against mine. "Hey there."

“Hi,” I squeaked before I began to sob again.

“It’s okay to be overwhelmed. It’s okay to cry,” she promised me over and over again as she held me close. “We’re here for you.”

“I know.”

After a few minutes, I felt Edward slip in behind me in the bed. He pulled the covers over Alice and me. He snuggled against my back, his arm around my waist. And that's how I fell asleep, between my two best friends.

“Oh, my god. He’s a fucking giant,” Alice whispered in the car when my brother came into view. He was leaning against a beautifully restored vintage red truck. A huge smile spread across his face when he realized it was us. He jogged over to Edward’s driver side window.

“Perfect. I just got here. Follow me back to the house. It’s a pain in the ass to get there. Sorry,” he chuckled.

“It’s not a problem,” Edward replied pleasantly.

“Awesome. Morning, sis,” he beamed. “Ladies,” he said with a charming smile to Rosalie and Alice in the back seat. “Alright. Let’s go. Ness is cooking, and it should be done soon.”

We followed behind at twenty miles an hour, first going up a twisting mountain road before heading off into the woods down a gravel path. It took twenty minutes to finally get to Jacob's cabin. It rested about a hundred yards from a black pebble beach. A jagged cliff made it seem like the land was cut off from the rest of the world, the dark ocean lapping lazily against the shore. Ancient trees with long branches hung like green curtains. The dense fog came rolling in from the sea, making it seem mystical.

“Oh,” I let out a soft whoosh of breath as I stepped out of our rental car.

Alice was already taking pictures. “Wow! You live here?”

Jacob came to stand beside me. “This land has been in our family for hundreds of years. This is where I grew up. Where our father grew up. It’s where my children will grow up. This is Bella’s home.”

“It’s breathtaking. Is it okay if we take pictures?” I asked. Alice quickly put her camera down, making Jake chuckle.

"Yeah, it's cool. Take all the pictures you want of the land. And the house and the fam. If we go into La Push, you might want to ask before you take any pictures around there. But, it'll probably be fine since you’re family," he shrugged, smiling at me. "So, you're Alice?" He asked, sweetly.

"Yeah." She bounced over to him and gave him a hug, which he eagerly returned. "I am so happy to meet you."

“Me, too,” he grinned, his gapped tooth smile huge. “So, you’re Rosalie?” He asked her blond sister. She wasn’t as bouncy, offering him her hand. It was tiny in his massive paw.

"Yeah. You can call me Rose, though."

“Or Roe,” Alice smirked.

“Only the family gets to call me that name,” she mumbled in a complaint.

“He is family,” I pointed at him with a smirk. Rosalie rolled her eyes and sighed.

“Damn. Guess you’re right,” she played along. She took my hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. “But, like, I prefer Rose. I am not fish eggs.”

"I like Roe," I said as I laid my head on her shoulder. "Especially in Mama's Cajun accent. It's an adorable name."

“Well, then you and Edward name your kids that,” she teased as we followed Jake towards the house. My boyfriend had come to my side quietly, his hand on the small of my back.

“It’s not a terrible middle name. I like the name Rue, actually.”

“That sounds very French,” Alice commented. “Want to call your kid Street?”

"Rue is also a medicinal herb with pretty little yellow flowers," I answered back. "It's always hard to think of girls names, though. I always think of all the bitches we went to school with."

“Right,” she snorted. “Especially for writing.” I nodded my head in agreement. I had enjoyed writing when I was younger, and that was always the hardest part.

“We’re actually having the exact same problem,” Jacob replied with a little grin, turning to look at us as we got to the door of the log cabin.

“Oh, really?” I said excitedly.

As soon as we opened the door, a tiny red-haired woman came bounding toward us. She pulled me into a bone crushing hug against her probably six months pregnant belly. She was crying loudly.

“Whoa, Vanessa. Baby. Calm down. Let her go so she can breathe.” He pulled off his sobbing wife.

“Oh, my god! I’m so sorry! Hello!” She said with large glassy hazel eyes. They were deep shiny green in the middle and were rimmed in a golden brown. Ness had freckles dotted across her petite nose and round cheeks. She was gorgeous.

Alice began to laugh behind us. I turned to look at her, and she waved her finger between Edward and Vanessa. "Y'all both like redheads."

“Oh, my god,” I laughed, pushing her gently. “Shut up.”

“Okay, so, thank you for making the joke first.” Jacob patted her on the shoulder. “I have been holding it in for fucking days.”

“Bella, you’re going to have a preview of what your kids are going to look like,” Rosalie fake loud whispered into my ear.

I threw my head back. “Oh, my god,” I repeated in a loud laugh. “Stop.”

"Worry it's going to scare him off?" Jake pointed at Edward, who shook his head with a smirk.

"Oh, no, no. I want kids. She's just annoyed that the twins have decided to gang up on her today," Edward said in a joking laugh. "This is their way of showing love, though, I think. I’m pretty sure."

Jacob waved both of his hands at Vanessa, his eyes wide.

“Yeah, okay. I see that one too,” she laughed at him, holding her pregnant belly. “He’s been talking about all the things you have in common all morning. She likes pickles, too!” She made fun of him, using a funny version of his voice.

"Baby," he whined, but something went off in the kitchen. It was a long ding from an old fashioned timer.

“Go get the stuff out of the oven. Both things,” she bossed her husband around. He rolled his eyes and sighed, but went into the kitchen to do what he was ordered. Vanessa brought me into a more gentle hug. “I hope you’re hungry. I’ve made so much food. Rachel and Rebecca should be here any minute.”

“Do you need any help with anything?” I offered.

“No! It’s all done. We’re just waiting on them now.”

Now that I wasn't surrounded by people, I could see their tiny home. The inside was clean and rustic. Little wooden hand-carved animals were lining the roaring fireplace. Intermixed was beautiful ceramics of all shapes and sizes and hundreds of pictures covered the walls.

“Wow, this place is just amazing. The pottery especially.”

“Thank you,” Vanessa said proudly. “I am a potter, actually. These are all mine.”

“You should see her shop!” Jacob said from the kitchen, still working.

"I'll show you later. It's out back. Jake has one, and so do I. He built it for me."

“Aw,” I drew out. “That’s so sweet!”

“He is the sweetest.” She beamed at the kitchen. “Come sit down!”

Alice and Rosalie sat. I turned to see Edward looking at a picture on the wall. When I walked over to him and placed a hand on his back, he pointed at an image he was looking at. He couldn't take his eyes off of it.

“That is you,” he said in a quiet voice.

In the picture was a beautiful light-skinned native American woman with the same lips, beaky nose, and shaped face. She had one bright blue eye and one was a dark brown. Her black hair was braided around her head in a thick rope crown. The woman was smiling, leaning into a large darker skinned Native American man. He had the same long black hair that Jacob did. I could see my face in both of them. The picture was obviously from the seventies.
“That is your grandma Marie and your grandpa Ephraim,” Vanessa explained.

The door beside us slammed opened, and two thin, tall, pretty girls came hurrying in with bags on both their arms. They dropped them to the floor and came straight for me, pulling me into their long skinny arms. I was smashed into black hair and parkas. Both smelled strongly of coffee and perfume.

There were so many tears.

“You’re so little!” One of them said excitedly. “Our big sister is tiny.”

I laughed into their jackets, trying to not get snot on them. “Hi. So, who’s who?”

“Rachel!” One replied. She was wearing a bright red turtleneck sweater.

“And I’m Rebecca,” said quickly next. She was wearing a baby blue knitted sweater. It made it easier to tell them apart.

We had the exact same nose and mouth.

"This is Edward," I finally said as I pulled away. I felt him behind me, so I backed up into his waiting arms. He pressed a kiss on the top of my head before offering his hand to the girls to shake. They both beamed at him. "And these are my other twin sisters. Alice and Rosalie,” I joked.

More hugging. More tears. Lots of twins. I was wrapped up in all my sisters, blood and chosen. Rachel brought in Vanessa for a hug, too.

"I'm so glad I bought tissues," I heard Jake whisper to Edward. My boyfriend chuckled and showed him the two travel packs he had in either one of his coat pockets. I laughed despite myself, and my boyfriend winked at me.

“I am so hungry. Can we eat now?” Jake asked the group of women.

“You’re always hungry,” three of them said in unison. I giggled.

“Okay, but can we eat while it’s still hot?” He sighed at their teasing.

“Right.” His wife rolled her eyes. She took my arm. “Come on. So, grab a plate and fill it up. Everything is on the counters. I have oatmeal with all the fixings, bacon, linked sausage, cinnamon rolls, and cheesy potatoes. And we’ve got fresh fruit, sliced tomatoes-”

“Babe, they get it. You made everything,” he teased, handing her and then me a plate. “Bowls are beside the oatmeal.”

I ate slow cooked creamy oatmeal with bananas and brown sugar and cinnamon, oven cooked bacon, tomatoes sprinkled with salt, a pile of cheesy potatoes, then finally shared a cinnamon roll with Alice. It was her second one. Everything was delicious, and there was still enough for us to eat again.

“So, leftovers tomorrow?” I joked as we sat around the dinner table afterward, all of us drinking coffee, milk, or orange juice while chatting and still picking at our plates.

"If we wait long enough, one of your cousins will show up and finish it off." Vanessa rolled her eyes again. "All of you Blacks eat like you have to store fat for the winter."

“Being secret werewolves must burn a lot of calories,” I said dryly. Rebecca actually snorted into her milk, making it blow bubbles.

“Yes. That is exactly what I’m going to tell people when they complain about how much I eat,” Rachel said with a little laugh.

“We’re just all bottomless pits,” Jacob chimed in. “And so are you, lady. Don’t give me that shit,” he pointed at his wife. “Don’t act like you haven’t been eating all morning.”

“No, Jake. She was tasting the food. It’s what you have to do when you’re cooking,” I said teasingly with a small smile. She grinned at me in return with her chin held high in the air.

“See, she gets it!”

“Explain the bucket of chicken you ate last night at two in the morning in front of the fridge.”

“It wasn’t the whole bucket!” She laughed. “It was like two legs. And a biscuit.”

“And some cake. And a couple of cookies.” She soundly swatted her husband. We all laughed quietly.

“So, who’s coming tonight to Aunt Sue’s? Rebecca asked. Without asking she refilled both Edward and my cup of coffee before pouring herself the rest.

Jake waffled his head to the side for a minute before he answered, “Aunt Sue, Uncle Harry, Leah, Sarah, Sam and Emily, Quil, Paul, Embry, Collin, Brady, Jules-”

“What about the Chief?” Rachel interrupted. The word chief got my attention for sure.

“I… haven’t told him yet,” he said slowly, not looking at his sisters or his wife.

“Jacob!” Both girls said at the same time.

“I know! I’m sorry… But, you know how he was about- Well, you know,” he said quickly to defend himself. “I was kind of hoping he’d hear through the grapevine and call.”

“Do you think he knows?” Vanessa asked quietly.

“We’d know if he did,” Rachel responded. “Jake, you have to tell grandpa!”

“What?” I breathed out, my eyes getting wider.

“I am! Tomorrow…” He trailed off. “It’s too much at once! She doesn’t need to meet the chief and all our asshole cousins on the same day! It’s too fast!”

“The Chief is my grandfather. As in the picture on the wall?” I questioned. “And he’s alive?”

“Yeah,” Rebecca smirked. “That’s why he was always hoping you were a boy so he wouldn’t have to be chief next.”

“Shut up!” He hissed. “Don’t tell her that!”

“Why? It’s true,” she challenged him. He sighed and looked away. Our sister quickly reached over and swatted him on the back of the head. “I can’t believe you didn’t tell him! Or her!”

“You didn’t either,” he sneered. “You’re scared of him, too.”

"Hey! Knock it off before you give me a headache," Vanessa countered, standing up from the table. She was shaking her head. "Acting like children. Come show your sister photo albums and stop fussing at each other."

“You’re going to be a good mom,” I told my sister in law. She smiled, winking at me. “Here, let me help you get cleaned up in the kitchen first. If we do it together, it’ll be faster.”

“Baby, I’m going to go out for a smoke,” Jacob said with a stretch, his long arms over his head. “Why don’t you join me, Eddie?”

“Sure,” my boyfriend said politely, smiling at me. He stood, placing a warm kiss on my lips. “Let me know if you need anything.”

“Thank you.” I rubbed my fingers through his hair, pulling him in for another quick kiss. “For everything.”

“Of course, my love.”

All of the women watched the two men leave.

“Hot damn that man is sexy,” Rebecca whispered as soon as the door shut. I laughed loudly, making everyone else do so as well. “Does he have any brothers?”

“Four older sisters. All married with cute kids,” I replied.

“Damn. Any cousins?” Rachel asked with a laugh.

“Probably, but I haven’t met them.” I started to gather dirty dishes. “Isn’t he gorgeous? It’s like God went ‘let me make a near flawless man with an amazing personality, give him all the talent, and let's see what he can do.’ I am still utterly shocked he wanted me in the first place.”

“I’m not.” Rosalie shook her head. “I want to know what his flaw is though because I saw his ass this morning and that was perfect.”

"Every time I see him, I just want to grab it. Like, all day, In public. I don't care," I said with a little sigh as I thought how much I loved it. "And I'd say his pushiness and anxiety are his biggest flaws, but both make him a good businessman, so," I shrugged. "Honestly, he could be a quarter as good looking and have the same personality, and I'd still be all over him. It's just awesome that it comes with that body. That man’s ass though is just mmm...”

"How did you get to see his butt this morning?" Rachel asked, eagerly.

“He was being funny and flashed her.”

“Fresh out of the shower,” Rose hummed. “I’m married, but if he asked me to come to join him…” She trailed off with wide eyes. “I’d think about it really hard. Really. Hard.”

“Right? You should see the front,” I whispered. All of the women started to snicker. “Trust me, the front is so much better.” It turned into full-on laughter as we heard the front door open. We were all standing around the kitchen at this point, putting away things and putting stuff in the dishwasher as we wiped counters.

"Hi, Eddie," Alice grinned pleasantly at my boyfriend as he came into the kitchen.

“Oh, god. They were talking about me,” he said to Jake. I began to turn pink, trying to hold in my giggles at his expression. “Oh, you did. I can tell. What were you talking about?”

“Your ass.”

He started to blush as well. “Literally?”

“Yup,” I giggled. “We all like it.”

“A+,” Alice agreed with a snicker. Rosalie nodded in agreement.

“Yeah,” Rachel agreed. “Please pass any single cousin’s numbers our way.”

“English or Scottish?” He asked, putting his hands in his pockets. His face was neon red.

“Oh, we’ve got choices!” Rebecca teased.

“None of them live in the states, sadly,” Edward said charmingly. “That’s their loss, though. You’re all very lovely. It’s obviously a family trait.”

“I’m willing to move,” Rachel deadpanned, making my boyfriend laugh. He nodded his head.

"Let me think, and maybe I can slip you a name or two later," he replied.

“Bella, why don’t you come with me and I’ll show you my shop?” Jacob said, grabbing my attention. “We can look at the pictures in a minute. Let’s walk off some of this food first,” he offered.

"Sure," I followed him, taking my boyfriend's hand as we went.

“We’ll help clean up,” Rose offered, glancing over at Alice. They were giving us privacy.

“We will, too. It’ll be just a sec,” Rebecca replied.

I followed Jacob out onto the porch and down the steps onto the stone-lined path that led into the trees behind his house. There were two rather large nice looking tin buildings, one obviously much newer than the other.

“This one is mine,” he said as he flicked on the lights. “It was Dad’s, actually.” Inside there were hundreds of tools hanging up, pieces of random wood in various states of completion laying around. One wall was lined with finished projections like chairs, shelves, carvings, boxes, and even toys.

“Oh, Jake…” I breathed as I took everything in. “You are so talented.”

“I’ve seen your pictures. So are you.” He nudged my shoulder. “I’ve got a couple of things for you.”

He took my hand and led me over the shelf of finished things and brought down a beautiful hand carved box with a wolf on the lid. My brother handed it to me, his smile hopeful.

"Thank you," I said with a watery smile of my own. I ran my fingers over the dark, almost black wood finish. Inside was a small hand-carved swan. It was obviously worn in spots from being handled so much. It was as if someone has been rubbing their thumb over his belly and back.

“That’s yours. Dad always wanted to give it to you. He made it for you.”

I hugged him tightly, pressing my face into his chest. I could hear his fast beating heart under my ear. His large hand came to my hair, petting the back of my head gently. He leaned over and kissed my forehead lovingly.

“Thank you so much,” I repeated. “You don’t know how overwhelmingly happy I am right now.”

“I might” he whispered, squeezing me tightly. “Are you okay?”

“Yeah, I’m alright.”

"Sorry about not telling you about Grandpa yet. He's… he's an asshole if I'm going to be honest. Tomorrow we'll go by his office, and I'll introduce you to him if he doesn't find out and show up at the party tonight. But, let's hope not. He's a major buzz kill."

I laughed, “it’s fine. So much has been going on. That sounds like a good idea. Let's do it early so Edward can meet him too.”

“Of course,” he instantly agreed. “Maybe we’ll go around lunchtime. We can go eat or something.” I nodded.

“That reminds me. We have a metric fuckton of candy in the trunk for later. Don’t let me forget it,” I mumbled to my brother, looking up at him with my chin on his chest.

“Everyone is just going to love you,” he smirked, pushing a loose hair away from my forehand. His hands were so warm and soft, softer than I expected them to be.

“I hope so.”

“You’re bringing them sugar. They will. Trust me.”

“Just wait until she brings her cookies,” Edward added in, watching us from the doorway with a grin and his hands in his pockets still.

“I can’t wait to cook for my entire family,” I told him before looking back up at Jake. “One day very soon.”

“She is perhaps the best chef that I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating,” he continued to sing my praises.

“Eddie,” I blushed.

“And I should know good food. I literally make a living going around eating,” he teased me sweetly. “Mate, trust me. It’s the best.”

“Don’t talk me up too much. I can’t live up to that!”

He brought his hands up. “Sorry. It’s mediocre at best,” he deadpanned. “Awful. Can barely stomach it. It’s a chore to eat. Especially your chocolate chip cookies. And your roasted chicken and potatoes with that dreadful cheesy sauce that I absolutely loathe.”

Jake laughed, finally letting me out of our hug. “I can’t wait to try your cooking. Even if it was mediocre. Actually, I’ve probably already tried some of your recipes. You should ask Vanessa.”

“Wow, that’s a thought,” I said with a soft breath.

“I can’t believe that I’ve been laughing at my sister for months. Well, not at. You’re funny, I mean,” he said quickly. “I really love watching you. I think I’ve seen all of the ones you’re in now. A couple of times apiece, probably.”

“Thanks,” I blushed furiously. “Eddie’s the funny one, though.”

“Okay,” my boyfriend scoffed. “I mean, I am too, but you’re a riot, darling. You’re sharp and witty. So quick with an answer, always. You’d be amazing at improv. I’m just the giddy idiot to your stunningly smart straightish woman.”

"Straightish," I laughed. "You're not an idiot. You're giddy, though. I'll give you that."

“I can’t wait to see how you and Jasper play off of each other for the camera,” he commented offhandedly.

“Who’s that?” My brother questioned curiously.

"Edward's best friend growing up and now a really close friend of mine as well. He's moving to the states soon to help with the channel," I explained smoothly. "I can't wait, either. It should be so much fun. I'm going to make him cook with me."

“And he wants you to play video games with him,” Edward added.

“I think he’d be really good in the new crime stuff too,” I offered thoughtfully. “He enjoys hearing about my dark shit. We could do a serial killer story time,” I joked. My boyfriend pulled out his phone and began to type, making me laugh. “Are you typing serial killer story time?” He nodded as he continued to type. I clicked my tongue but smiled. “Bella tells Jasper horrifying stories while Seth films and they do the editing, so you don't have to have murder stuff in your brain?” He kept nodding.

“Vanessa loves crime stuff,” Jacob complained. “She’s all into murder documentaries and then doesn’t understand why she has nightmares.”

“Well, at least you have something in common with your sister in law,” Edward poked me before pulling me into his arms. I giggled, leaning into him as I breathed in his scent deeply. I was so happy.

“Why don’t we head back in? I shouldn’t hog you all to myself,” Jake said after a moment. “We’ve got a ton of pictures to show you.”

Episode Seventy: Rose

It was completely dark in our hotel room when I woke up. My face was shoved into Edward's neck, his beard brushing against my nose and forehead. Without a single doubt, I knew that's how I slept the entire night. I was held as tightly as I could be by him. His warm hands were clenched protectively around my body, and my legs were tangled with his. Edward's breathing was slow and even. I instantly knew he was awake, too.

“You smell so good,” I whispered softly into his ear, brushing my lips over his skin lightly before taking in a deep breath through my nose. He chuckled very quietly, smoothing his hand up the center of my back. “Have you slept any?”

“A little.”

“What time is it?”

“Seven.”

I groaned. I wouldn’t be going back to sleep even if I really needed it. Edward turned his face slightly and kissed my jawline. Humming quietly, I tilted it back to give him better access.

"Why don't I take you out to get some coffee and we'll pick up the candy? We'll bring some back for the creepy sisters, too," he offered as his hand pressed up against my spine under the back of my shirt. "You can even wear my hoodie, and you won't even have to put on a bra. You can get ready to go when we get back."

I giggled, “you just don’t want me to wear a bra.”

“Obviously. But, no one’s going to be able to tell through your three massives layers,” he teased. “I know you’re uncomfortable right now.”

"I'll be fine. It's almost over." He knew very well why my breasts were sore. I knew he had noticed me digging at my bra all through the flight. My period always made them hurt. "I'm glad there is going to be lots of food today. I hope it's good. I'm probably going to pregame with some doughnuts though," I told him honestly. He laughed, pulling back to smirk at me. "What?" I questioned his look. I wanted to know all of his funny comments.

“Pregaming is usually liquor. But… What kind of doughnuts?” He smoothed his finger under my chin, smirking at me slightly as he did so.

“Those trashy mini store-bought kind. So I can eat a dozen of them and not feel guilty. Both chocolate and powdered, probably. I’ll bring some back for Al and Roe and pretend I got them a treat to go with their coffee.”

My boyfriend shook his head, rolling his eyes a little bit. “I love how easy it is to make you happy sometimes. I’m willing to get you whatever you wish at any time. And you want a two dollar bag of doughnuts.”

"Mm, at least two bags of them, actually. It would be cool if they had blueberry cake ones, but I'm never that lucky. Also, a vanilla cappuccino."

“With extra vanilla,” Edward smirked at me slightly, pecking my lips lightly several times. “I know what you like.”

“Mm-hmm,” I hummed, kissing him back. “Give me your hoodie.”

“Yes, ma’am,” he drew out. Edward pulled away from me and tugged off his thick shirt, leaving him topless. He plopped it down onto me heavily, making me giggle. I snuggled up with it as if it were a beloved blankie.

“I wish you didn’t have to put clothes on,” I playfully complained as I watched him get out of bed to fetch himself something clean. “I am okay with you being topless all the time as well. And pantless.”

“Shall I walk around nude for you all the time?” He teased, pulling on a long sleeved t-shirt and then a sweater. He kept on his sweatpants.

“Yeah, that would be great actually.”

“Should I start now?” He jokingly asked, pushing his thumbs down his pants at his hips. When he did it exposed just the beginning of his happy trail. I bit my bottom lip as I took in his deliciously bare stomach.

“I want to say yes, but we should probably wait until we get home.” I crawled to the end of the bed and sat on my calves. Slowly, I ran my hand up his thigh. “Oh, you’re not wearing any underwear.”

“No, I am not,” he grinned at me as I gripped him through the soft fabric.

“I love when you don’t wear any,” I mumbled, slipping my hand down the front of his blue pants. Edward actually laughed, leaning his head back as I slowly stroked his half hard erection. Softly he moaned, closing his eyes tightly.

"Or, we can stay here, and I can fuck you in the shower," he offered seductively. "And we can get the candy and coffee on the way."

“I want doughnuts.” I let go of him with a smirk. His expression was playfully sour. Edward growled at me, leaning down for a quick but powerful kiss before pulling away from me. Swiftly, he very gently pinched one of my perky nipples through my shirt before going across the room to get his wallet.

“Well, if I’m not going to get laid… Hurry up and get that fine ass out of bed so I can get you some damn doughnuts,” he teased. I laughed, hopping out of bed eagerly. I put on his hoodie and practically skipped to him for another kiss.

There was a small grocery store right next to the hotel where we were staying at. We drove mainly because it was raining and cold. Neither of us wanted to walk the three hundred yards. Edward got a cart, leaning his arms over it as he pushed it along. He let me have my silence for a few minutes. I wasn't sure what I wanted to talk about or if I even could. I needed the playfulness and his reassuring presence, though. I think he knew that.

“So, what kind of candy is good for a smores?” He asked curiously once we got to the sweets aisle. “I’ve never had one before.”

“Anything chocolate, really,” I said as I looked at my options. He started pulling out two of pretty much each kind he could find. I just laughed as I watched him put at least twenty bags of candy into the blue cart. “What are you doing?”

“What I do best. Going overboard. Crunch bars, Milky Ways, Reese’s, Snickers, Kit-Kats, Twix’s, Almond Joy’s, Mounds, dark chocolate, dark chocolate with almonds. Anything else?”

“The York peppermint patties might be good,” I offered with a smirk. He smiled at me when he realized I wasn’t going to complain about his shopping style.

He dropped two bags of that in the cart as well. We started to walk down the aisle again. "Ooo, Oreo candy bars." Edward threw two of those in there also. I laughed again, smiling to myself. "Got something to say?"

"If they don't eat this candy, I will, and my thighs are going to get huge."

"Mm, thick thighs. Yum," he mumbled to himself. My boyfriend smiled at me innocently when I glanced at him. "Sorry. I like your thighs."

“So, you’re saying they’re thick?”

“In the best way, yes,” he smirked at me, knowing that I was teasing him. Edward knew my dry voice well enough to pick it up right away. “Your ass, too.” I laughed loudly despite myself as he shamelessly flirted with me in his deadpan manner. “Jasper thinks so, too.”

“Mm, his ass,” I muttered to myself, making him laugh.

“Agreed.”

I sighed a little bit as I chewed on the side of my thumb a little anxiously. “I can’t wait until he comes. But he’s probably happy he’s missing this insanity.”

“He feels guilty as hell. He feels like he’s already a bad boyfriend,” he commented quietly as we walked towards the baked goods aisle.

“It’s not his fault,” I sighed. “I wish he didn’t feel that way. I can’t tell you how comforting he’s been to talk to this week. I’ll have to make sure he knows that next time we talk. Though I’m pretty sure I could go for a pile of naked snuggles right now.”

“Me too,” he agreed as we stopped in front of the doughnuts. I pointed at the kind I liked. He got a bag of powdered, chocolate, and iced lemon. He also picked up a box of blueberry cake doughnut sticks. “Close enough,” he shrugged.

"I kind of wish we could just go back to Australia and stay," I complained as we went towards the checkout. There was a coffee shop in the grocery store, and we were going to visit that very last.

“I’m surprised you’d want that.”

“I saw how happy you were around your friends and family and I liked it. That cabin felt like something out of my dreams. With both of you there, it was perfect.”

Edward put things on the conveyor belt. He didn’t look at me as he spoke, “even with my psycho mother?”

“I could take her.” I shrugged.

“In a bar fight,” he said under his breath. I snorted. “I don’t want to take you away from your friends and family to just be around mine.”

“I’m already willing to move away from my friends and family to be with you. And it would be worth it.”

“That’s sweet. But you’re willing in the same country,” he countered. “And you just found your brother and sisters. I don’t imagine you want to be so far away from them yet.”

"No, not yet," I agreed. "But someday, maybe. I figured you may want to raise our kids around their aunts and cousins."

"I'd like to raise them around their aunts and cousins… in LA. That would be fantastic," Edward replied. "But… Bella, that's very sweet. It makes me happy when you say such things. I do realize it would be a sacrifice on your part, and I appreciate it."

“Well, if you’re going to spoil me rotten and treat me like royalty, it’s the least I can do,” I smirked at him playfully. I leaned in close so that he was the only one that could hear me. “Oh, woe is me. I have to live in a lovely oceanside cabin with my hot young well-hung millionaire surfer boyfriend and our other equally sexy and well-endowed surfer boyfriend. I’ll just have to distract myself with nude, half drunk sunbathing and hours of mind-blowing sex.”

Edward turned fiery red, making me giggle. “I’ll agree to young, millionaire, and surfer. I can’t deny those things.”

“You’re not my hot well-hung boyfriend?” I asked after we paid.

He had his chin in the air, his face playfully serious. “Pre-fiance.”

“Oh, you’re right. I’m sorry. Super hot, extremely well-hung pre-fiance.”

“Stop saying well-hung,” Edward laughed uncomfortably.

I looked at him directly in the eyes and very seriously and with no emotion whispered, “well-hung.”

He swatted me hard on the ass. I dissolved into giggles, leaning into his side. Edward comfortingly put his arm around me. “Come on. Let’s go get you some coffee, you weird little thing.”

“You like it.”

“I do. It’s obviously part of the problem.” He winked at me.

"There you are!" Rosalie said worriedly when we knocked on the door that connected our hotel rooms together. "I knocked on your door a few minutes ago, but you didn't answer."

“Sorry. We got you some hot tea and doughnuts,” I told her, waving my hand towards the table with some of our haul from the store. The rest was in the trunk, waiting for us. “A large hot green tea with lemon and honey, right?”

“Oh, yes! Thank you!” She grinned excitedly, going to get her drink. “Oh, it’s still super hot, too! Nice!”

“I got Alice something, too.”

"She's in the shower," she replied, looking at the doughnuts. Rosalie opened the powdered ones. It was clear from her appearance that she was almost done getting ready. Her hair and makeup were already done, but she was still in her pajamas. "Good morning, Eddie. Thank you for breakfast."

“Of course, Rose,” he replied politely. “I’m going to fetch a shower as well. Love, do you want one?”

“No. I’ll take one tonight.”

“Do you want me to do your hair?” Rose asked, a slight smile on her face.

“I’d love that,” I smiled at her in return.

She went into her room to get her stuff. Edward leaned down and pressed a kiss to my cheek before going into the bathroom. I set up a chair in front of the mirror and took a sampling of pastries to snack on while she messed with my hair, sipping on my coffee with my feet underneath me.

Rosalie plugged in her straightener and began to brush out my long hair. We looked at each other in the mirror and smiled.

“How many hours do you think we did this as kids?”

"Hundreds, if not thousands. I still remember the first time you tried to make my hair straight," I replied quietly.

“Seventh grade. It took three hours,” she recalled. “You didn’t wash your hair for three days afterward.”

“They’re so much better now,” I said thoughtfully, nibbling on a powdered one. “How are you going to do it?”

“Make it straight and give you a braid crown, I think. Half up, half down, maybe. I’ve got some pretty colored bobby pins that would look cute in your hair. What do you think?”

“Whatever you want to do. I trust you.” I finished the doughnut before picking up a chocolate one. I offered it to her. She took it silently and shoved the whole thing into her mouth.

Rosalie slowly began to straighten my hair. When I was done eating, I decided to put on some makeup since she was working so hard on making me look cute. I didn't want to look like a sick Victorian-age child.

“Waterproof everything and then put enough setting spray for five people,” she instructed jokingly when I started to line up my supplies.

“Right,” I snorted, wiping my face clean with a facial cloth. “There are going to be a ton of pictures taken today, I think. Got to look nice.”

“I think you’re right about the pictures. Are you excited?”

“I’m overwhelmed. Jake is cool, though. Really cool. I can’t wait for you to meet them.” I touched her hand. “Thank you for being here. I know you’re busy.”

“Just because I am doesn’t mean I don’t want to be here for you. I love you. You’re my family,” she replied quickly.

“I love you, too.”

“I know we’re not as close as we used to be and I realize that’s mainly my fault. Between work and Emmett-” Rose said softly in a sad and apologetic tone. I swiftly shook my head.

“I understand. I mean, same. Recently at least. I wish we could just text more,” I said with a little sigh.

“I’ll work on that,” she promised as she leaned down to look at me. Rosalie put her perfectly white face next to my olive one, her thin arms wrapping around my shoulders. “Bells, I’m so happy for you right now.”

“Thanks.” I patted her arm. “I’m happy for me too, honestly,” I admitted to her. “Just still a little shell shocked.”

“That’s why we’re here.”

“I know.”

“Eddie’s a good one for flying us out.”

“Yes, he is,” I agreed wholeheartedly. “He’s the best.”

I began to put on light makeup on as Rose started to braid my hair in silence. After a few moments, Edward popped his head out of the bathroom, still wet and dripping.

“I forgot my clothes,” he informed me, answering the question in my eyes.

“Well, come get them,” I smirked. I was mid-braid and unable to get them for him.

Edward rolled his eyes, closing the door for a second before coming out with a white towel around his hips.

"Yeah, come and get ‘em," Rose said softly, looking over his half-naked body in the mirror. "Don't mind me. At all."

“Don’t say that. He’ll probably drop the towel then,” I joked. I heard him snort behind me while he grabbed a couple of things from his suitcase.

“Don’t mind me,” Rosalie said very loudly again and sarcastically. I giggled to myself, rubbing my forehead slightly as I did.

Edward didn't say anything to us as we walked passed us again, but I could see his head shaking in the mirror. He went back into the bathroom, his back to us. Just before the door closed, he let his towel drop to the floor for a great view of his ass.

I threw my head back in laughter, unable to help myself. Rosalie laughed as well, putting her hand over his mouth with her eyes wide.

“Thank you,” she yelled at the door.

“You’re welcome. I do what I can,” he answered from the bathroom far too brightly. He was happily playing it up for us, just trying to amuse me.

“You could bounce a quarter off that ass,” Rosalie whispered to me.

“I kind of just want to take a bite out of it all the time,” I said with a little sigh, brushing the blush along my cheeks. Edward came out of the bathroom in just his blue jeans, the very top of his briefs sticking out. “Though that’s a good view, too,” I told him as I offered him his comb.

“You’re making me feel like meat here, Bella,” Edward teased as he put on his deodorant.

"First, you show my girl here your gorgeous ass, and then you don't expect us to be talking about it afterward and all the good things attached?" I asked him with a smirk.

He leaned down, putting his hand on the back of my neck. “Silly woman. Give me a kiss before you put on your lipstick and then I’ll put on a shirt.”

“I’ll give you two kisses if you wait to put your shirt on until before we go,” I teased him back. He quickly pressed two kisses on my lips, making me giggle happily. There was a knock on the attached bedroom door.

Edward picked up the coffee we got for Alice and walked to the door without his shirt on still. He opened it, offering it to her wordlessly. I watched in the mirror as her brain fizzled and popped at the image of the hot shirtless Aussie, giving her a hot beverage in the morning.

“I’ve had this dream before,” Alice blurted out.

“There are doughnuts in here,” I called to her.

“Oo, doughnuts,” she said, coming in past Edward. Her eyes raked over him as she did. “This is why you’re moving to California.”

“No shit. I could have told you that without seeing his ass.” Rosalie sprayed my hair thickly with hairspray to make it stick in place. “It’s just a bonus.”

Edward took the bag of lemon ones and laid on the bed, semi-reclined with his arm behind his head. He was having too much fun with the women swooning over him.

“You saw his ass?” Alice said in surprise.

“Yeah, just a minute ago.”

“All nice and fresh from the shower, too,” I added in.

“Aw,” Al pouted, shoving half a blueberry stick into her mouth in one go. “I want to see it.”

“You’ve seen it!” I laughed at her.

“In pictures!”

“I’m right here,” Edward laughed.

“Okay. Well, take your pants off,” Alice told him, crossing her arms over her chest. “I want to see it, too. In person.”

“We don’t have time for that.” I shook my head. “Maybe another time.”

“Give me a few months. I’ve barely worked out in ages,” he joked, winking at me in the mirror because he knew I was watching him. We smiled at each other.

“Mm, if you want to talk about bouncing quarters...” I looked at Rosalie, raising my eyebrows. “You should see him in his wetsuit.”

“Him and Jasper,” Alice agreed, smirking at me. “Yummy.”

“Who’s Jasper?” Rosalie asked curiously.

I looked at Alice before flicking my eyes towards Edward. He knew my question. He lazily shrugged his shoulders. Alice already knew, and Rosalie wasn't going to tell anyone. She had no one she would want to tell. Roe wasn't much into gossip anyway. She knew my history, it wouldn’t surprise her in the least.

“Our boyfriend,” I replied carefully.

“Our?”

I watched my boyfriend in the mirror as I spoke, "Edward’s and my boyfriend. They were best friends growing up," I explained, flicking my eyes up to hers in the mirror. "He's living in Sydney right now, but he's moving to the states soon. Some things happened while we were in Australia, and we decided to try together."

“Wait. Is he Australian too?” I nodded my head, taking out my phone. I quickly brought up a picture of the boys together the night went out to the club. “Holy fuck! He’s hot, too! Are you for real?” She looked at me and then Edward. “So, you’re like all dating?”

“Yes,” he answered her with a slight smirk on his face. “And, yeah. I think he’s pretty hot, too.”

“Oh, god. So hot,” she whispered, looking back at me. “How?”

“I think her tits are magic,” Alice answered sarcastically.

“Look into my cleavage.” I waved my hand in front of my chest as if I was going to hypnotize someone with them. “Actually, what were you saying? You like my thick thighs and ass?”

“I like all of it,” he said thoughtfully, his expression slightly warm. “You should know that by now.”

“But your ass is.” Alice did the stupid finger kiss thing she liked to do. “Muah. Chef’s finger kiss. Just muah.”

“I wish my ass looked like that,” Rose sighed. Neither of them had much in the ass department.

“I do fifty squats almost every day. That’s how I’ve got it,” I told her honestly as I blushed. “I don’t do anything special.”

“Nah. I don’t want one that bad,” she said with a laugh. I snorted and rolled my eyes. “That’s what plastic surgery is for.”

“I’d rather do squats.”

"To each their own." She winked at me and then adjust her bra. Her breasts were plastic, and she loved them. So did her husband.

Rosalie had braided my hair around the top of my head to either side until it met in the middle in the back. She put it into a ponytail at the base of my neck and curled the ends slightly with the straightener, twisting it over and over.

"Thank you," I told her warmly as I looked at my appearance. "It's gorgeous."

“You’re welcome. I still like playing with your hair.” Rose put both of her hands on my shoulders. “Now, let’s go get dressed so you can meet the rest of your family.”

Episode Sixty-Nine: A Bowl of Pickles

It was dark and drizzling lightly on the windshield of the car. I was finding it hard to move from the seat. Edward took my hand, holding it carefully in his big one. He was so tender. I felt so tired, and my chest hurt a little. All of my emotions were taking a toll on my body. I needed to really rest.

“Let’s plan a real vacation soon. Somewhere with no family.”

“Just me and you?” He looked at me curiously, unbuckling his seatbelt but not moving from his spot either. He knew I wasn’t ready.

“I’d like it if Jasper were there, too. But, I think I might need something before then,” I admitted. “Just another weekend somewhere, maybe. I don’t know where. My brain is kind of fried right now.”

“I think I can arrange that for us.”

“You’ve been so good about all this. I should.”

"I want to, though. Let me arrange something nice and quiet for us soon. Next month, maybe?" He offered. I smiled and nodded. I took in a deep breath. "Yeah, I don't know if we can, but we'll try. Are you ready?" Edward questioned me gently.

“No,” I said as I undid my seatbelt and opened the car door. He followed behind me, his hand comfortingly on my back as soon as we met in front of the car.

There were only a couple of trucks in the parking lot. The silver building was lit up by a bright overhanging street light, the red neon of the restaurant sign glowing in the puddles that filled the rocky parking lot. My feet crunched through the gravel.

It was easy to see my half brother under the light. His features were hazy, but it was incredibly hard to miss his giant form. Jacob was huge. Taller than Edward even, by a couple of inches at least. He was also twice as muscular. As I walked closer, my heart thudded in my chest.

Every step closer, I saw something new. Our skin was almost the same shade. His mother was part white, too. We had the same long black curly hair that twisted down our shoulders. It was nearly the same length even. His was very pretty, shiny in the light and neatly pushed back behind his ears. We had the same beaky nose. I walked faster. His smile grew, and I could see a small gap in his front teeth. It reminded me of the one I had before I suffered through braces and a retainer. As I closed the distance, I finally realized that Jake had one blue eye and one dark brown. I hadn’t been able to tell from the pictures.

I threw myself at him. My brother picked me up completely off the ground with both of his arms around my waist and buried his face in my neck. He was shaking with silent tears as I desperately wrapped my arms around him as tightly as I could.

"We have the same eyes," I cried out surprisingly loud. He pulled back to take a look at me, then let out a watery laugh. Jake nodded with a smile. "Did Dad?"

"Yeah. So did our grandma. The girls don't, though," he told me quickly, putting his large hand on my cheek when he put me down on my feet. "You look so much like our grandmother. Oh, my god. Wow."

“Really?”

“Yeah. Just like her,” he said happily. “She was really tiny, too,” he laughed while still crying. “And pretty, too. I can’t wait to show you pictures. You’ll see.”

"I can't believe how much we look alike." I pulled back finally from his hug, my hands resting on his arms. "Jesus, you're huge, though." Jake laughed as he pulled me back into a hug before kissing my forehead.

We stood there silently for a long time, just holding each other.

“Hi, sis. So nice to meet you,” Jake finally said, his big hands were holding my back tightly as he laid his cheek on the top of my head. I pressed my face into his chest, breathing in his unique scent. It was mildly familiar and musky. It was very comforting.

"Nice to meet you, too," I laughed, trying to stop my tears. I pulled back again and finally looked at my love. He was smiling brightly, and his eyes were a little red-rimmed with tears for us. "Jake, this is the man I'm going to spend the rest of my life with. Edward."

“Edward, Eddie. I’ll answer to either,” he said briskly, offering his hand to him politely. He was nervous.

“Fantastic to meet you.” Jacob shook his outreached hand. Both of their hands were massively huge.

"Or Tony, or Anthony," I teased him. "Edward is his first name, but his family calls him by his middle. He is a man of many names and talents." I winked at my boyfriend. He grinned at me, brushing a hand over my cheek as I moved towards him for a hug. He pulled me in tightly, kissing my mouth gently.

“Why don’t we go inside and get something to eat before the rain decides to pick up?” He offered, pointing towards the red door of the restaurant.

Jake sat on one side of the booth and Edward and I on the other. His arm wrapped around me comfortingly, our bodies pressed into one another. I felt as if we couldn’t be close enough.

"Have you eaten?" I asked my brother, looking at the menu. We only had snacks on the plane. I had been too nervous, but I felt like I needed something to do with my hands and mouth.

“Yes, but that’s never slowed me down before,” he chuckled. “I’m always hungry.”

“Me too, actually,” I laughed. “This whole week especially. I just want to eat and eat.”

“I’ve been eating us out of house and home,” he chuckled. “Poor Ness. She’s not up for cooking either, so it’s been all my crap frozen food, too. Or fast food. Or here.” He grinned. “The shop I work out is just down the road. I eat here a lot.”

“Oh. What’s good?” I asked, looking at the back of the menu.

“Everything. But especially the desserts. So, save room,” he told me charmingly.

“Hey, Jake,” a pretty young woman with blond hair said sweetly, smiling at him. “You’re here late.”

“Well, I’m just meeting up with my sister and her fiance,” he said conversationally, waving his hand to the other side of the booth. She hadn’t noticed us. She was too focused on my very handsome brother. Not that I could blame her. When she saw us, her eyes got wide before focusing on Edward.

“Wow, your sister,” she grinned, shaking her head quickly. “I thought I met all your sisters.”

“This is Bella,” Jake introduced us. “Bella, this is my friend, Stacy.”

“Hi,” she said breathily, still looking at Edward. “I know you somehow.”

"My name is Eddie," he said in his rich Australian accent, purposefully thick and charming. She giggled to herself, and I actually snorted.  Then I coughed to hide it, covering my mouth and turning to the side quickly. I felt him nudge me with his foot.

“Um…” Stacy drew out. She finally cleared her throat and took out a pad and pen. “What can I get you to drink?”

“I’ll take a coffee,” Jake answered her.

“Me, too. And a glass of water. I’m actually ready to order whenever you two are,” I told the men.

“I’ll take a coffee as well. I’m ready, too,” Edward agreed.

“You know I just want my usual,” Jake said to Stacy. She flashed him a big smile as she quickly wrote down whatever he had normally ordered.

“I’ll take pancakes and bacon,” my boyfriend said next, passing her the menu as he did. “A side of fried potatoes as well, please.”

“I’ll have the bbq bacon patty melt with tomatoes. French fries. And can I also get a bunch of pickles on the side?”

“Okay, so we have three coffees and a glass of water. Pancakes with bacon and fried potatoes. Two bbq bacon patty melts, one with tomatoes, both with french fries, and extra pickles on the side. That sound about right?”

I nodded slowly as I began to tear up for some stupid reason. Quickly, I wiped them away.

“Actually, add tomatoes to mine. That sounds good,” Jake added as he smiled at me. “Bring me some extra bbq, too.”

“I know.” She waved him off before she left to put in the order.

He chuckled at me. “Like pickles, too?”

“Yeah, just not on the burger.”

“Me either. It makes the bun taste funny,” he replied. “That’s funny. I wonder what else we have in common.”

"I can't wait to find out," I said. I offered him my hand from across the table, and he took it, squeezing it gently. "So, what do we have planned for tomorrow?" I asked curiously. The waitress came back with our drinks, and Edward began to make mine wordlessly. He knew how I liked my coffee. He was just so eager to take care of me in any way he could.

“Well, Ness wants you to come by for brunch with just us and the girls first. We can show you pictures and movies with Dad. Then for dinner, our Aunt Sue is going to cook for all of us and our cousins on the beach, so you can meet all of them. And then we’re going to have a bonfire tomorrow evening.”

“That sounds amazing. Um… Edward arranged for my kinda adopted sisters to come to meet us here. He surprised me. They’re actually back at the hotel right now. Is it okay if they come, too?” I asked just to make sure.

“Hell yeah!” He said excitedly. “I can’t wait to meet them. If they’re your sisters, they’re mine, too.”

"Oh, good." I smiled, feeling a little lighter for the asking. "Do I need to bring anything?"

“Just yourself. Trust me. Sue has got this covered. I think she bought all the Marshmallows in Forks for the bonfire,” he told me jokingly.

“Love smores,” I informed him, humming in pleasure. “Made with Crunch bars instead of regular chocolate, though.”

“Okay, maybe you can bring some Crunch bars,” he said, teasing. “That sounds so good. I love smores, too. They taste like good memories.”

“I know exactly what you mean,” I replied with a grin. “Why don’t I just bring a shit load of candy to make them more interesting?”

“I think you’re going to fit into this family perfectly,” Jake answered as he took a big swig of his coffee.

I laughed, “I hope so.”

"You will. It's like we were missing a piece, but we finally found you," my brother said warmly. "Gosh! I can't believe how beautiful you are! Bella fits you perfectly."

I shook my head quickly. “Ugh, no. My face is so swollen from crying so much lately,” I replied, brushing my sleeve over my eyes. “I’m not even wearing makeup right now because I knew it would come right off.”

"You don't need makeup to be breathtaking," Edward whispered softly to me before kissing my cheek. I closed my eyes and rubbed my fingers over his soft chin. Soon his thick beard would be coming off for his role, and I was enjoying it while I still could.

“Thank you,” I whispered back. He nodded and kissed my temple.

“I feel like I should warn you. They’re all crazy and weird down at the rez,” Jake stated rather seriously. “But, nothing I can say will prepare you.”

“I’m excited.”

"You say that now," he replied with a broad grin. "I wish Dad could be here to see you now," he said wistfully. "So happy and doing well. He's got to be just-" he sniffled and rubbed his cheek. "Sorry. I've been crying a lot, too. It's hard not to."

“I can’t honestly imagine what you think of me. I didn’t figure my father even knew I existed in the first place. Let alone talked or cared about me. I can’t imagine what it’s like to care for a person that you’ve never met. And I was raised Catholic! Talk about faith. I could, and probably should have been, a horrible person. Maybe his genetics are the only reason I’m not.”

Edward put a comforting arm around my shoulders, unsure what to say to my rambling. Jake sighed and took a drink of his coffee.

“I’m relieved that you didn’t know, honestly. It would have been hard if you knew and didn’t care or didn’t want to know us. That’s why I didn’t tell the girls until I talked to you. I didn’t want to put them through that.”

“I understand. I hope-” I stopped, unsure of how to finish that. I smiled a little awkwardly. “I hope that I can live up to whatever expectations that you surely must have for me.”

“Oh, baby! You have far exceeded them by a million,” he reassured me quickly, finishing his coffee. Jake chuckled. “You’re here! That’s enough for me. And that would have been enough for Dad, too.”

Stacy came back with a tray with our food. I was grateful for it. I was hungry and starting to feel a little light-headed with emotion. On my plate, there was literally a bowl of pickles.

“Wow,” I laughed.

“That’s a lot of pickles,” Edward teased.

“I think you mean the right amount,” I replied, popping one into my mouth. He made a little face, making me giggle. He liked pickles, just not as much as I did.

"Oh, good. That's more than what we normally give out, but I brought you the same amount I always bring Jake. He's always loved pickles. Let me get some more creamer, and I'll refill your coffee," she said before turning away from the table.

"Do you like spicy stuff, too?" Edward asked my brother, sarcastically.

He laughed, “yeah, actually I do. That’s why Quil showed me that video of you two eating the spicy wings. You’re both very funny, by the way.”

“Thank you,” my boyfriend smirked a little proudly. “I have to work really hard at it. Bella is just being herself. Especially in that video. It’s one of my favorites.”

"That was the week we started dating," I explained to my brother. "You should come down to LA, and we'll go eat wings together. Maybe we can even film it."

"You mean, film me getting embarrassed by your asbestos mouth," Edward mumbled under his breath. He sighed, shaking his head. "I kind of hate how well those videos do. I swear they always hurt the most."

“You can stop at any time.”

"I have this problem where I like attention, and I'm willing to do stupid things for it," he replied back. "You know this. You've always known this." I giggled which just egged him on. "I am a glutton for punishment, Ms. Swan."

“Yeah. You do seem to like pain,” I teased him in a silky voice. He turned a faint shade of pink, making me actually laugh. “Speaking of pain… We really do need to make our next tattoo appointments, by the way. While I’m thinking about it. We both keep talking about it.”

"You've got tattoos?" Jake asked, excitedly.

"She's got thirty-five. I've got one," Edward laughed. "I want her to pick out one for me. But she doesn't want to."

“I’ll help you. You can even help me choose mine. I just don’t want to be solely responsible for messing up any of the goods.” I rubbed his arm before leaning my head against his shoulder. “What about you?”

Jacob pulled up one of his sleeves, revealing the dark tribal tattoos that covered most of his skin. “I have them all over, practically,” he answered with a slight smile. He was very proud of his ink, obviously.

"Promise to tell me what they all mean someday," I said. My half brother smiled, scrunching up his nose a little bit as he nodded. It was also pretty apparent that they had some emotional meaning behind them, too. I wasn't going to press, though. "Hey, maybe you can help me pick out a tattoo, too."

"Oh, well, that's easy. You need a wolf. You're one of us now," Jake answered before taking a large bite of his patty melt. "All of us Black's have a wolf tattoo. Me, Dad, Grandpa. The girls. Hell, even Ness does, too."

"That would be pretty cool," I said softly, thinking about having a matching tattoo with the rest of my family. Maybe I could have the same one like my father. I felt as if I was going to start getting emotional again.

My love rested his big hand comfortingly on my thigh underneath the table.

It was just after one in the morning when we arrived back to the hotel. We were going to meet Jacob at the entrance to the reservation at ten to start our day together. I turned our alarm on for eight on my phone so that we could get up early enough to run to the store for the insane amount of chocolate that I was about to purchase.

Edward and I stood in the darkness for a long time by the door in silence as he held me to his warm and comforting body. I curled my fingers into his shirt, pushing my nose into the fabric. He smelled so good. He smoothed one hand up my back and the other down my ass, grabbing it firmly. I hummed in pleasure as his fingers moved up the back of my neck to tangle with my hair.

“I wish that I could make love to you right now,” he whispered as he began to press kisses along my cheeks.

“I’m still on my period,” I complained quietly. “I want to. I’m just not up to it. I’m sorry.”

“Don’t apologize. I know that you’re not. I just want to make you feel better.” He kissed lovingly along my shoulder to my neck. “Let's take a shower and put some comfortable clothes on. We can crawl into bed and cuddle. I can be your pillow.”

“Edward, you’re the best,” I said in a breath, closing my eyes as I took him in. “I don’t deserve you. No one could. I don’t know how someone so good and kind can exist. I’m so glad I’m yours,” I said to my sweet man desperately, looking up at him. He put his hand on my cheek and kissed my mouth tenderly. “I love you.”

"I love you," he sighed happily against his lips. "Bella, I just want you to be happy, and I am willing to do anything in my power to make that happen."

“I know. That’s why you’re the best.”

I could feel his skin heating lightly under my touch, my fingers rubbing over his cheek gently. Edward turned his face towards my palm, kissing it softly.

“Come on, love. Let’s get freshened up so we can get some rest. Tomorrow is going to be a long day.”
